+1 yShe was probably too focused on her career to get married or even want to. It could also have been tough to find time to date when you're in that field.

Not really.
It was well known she was messing around with a married man. Most men would not touch that with a 10 ft pole.
At work there was a woman who was well known for screwing around with one of our married collegues. This woman was attractive. Several months after their adulterous affair had ended she starts making eyes and saying hi to me at the office. I am old enough to know what that means but knowing she was messing around with a married guy caused a revulsion in me. I did not respond to her flirting.20 ReplyI wouldn't find it strange. I mean yes thats late to get married but sadly sometimes people dont find their spouse till later in life.. personally i hope to be married in my 30s at the latest if i dont marry in my 20s but it's all about finding the right person and what God has planned for me. Marriage isn't something to be taken lightly and it's much harder this day and age but it goes to show a person could be attractive and have great qualities but still haven't found someone who their compatible with.

+1 yI’m sure her focus was not on a man and a relationship was not a priority. So it’s not strange but it’s not common. Women are using their brains now a days it’s more to life than just being married or procreating. A man or relationship has never been a priority or important to me either.

+1 yIt's interesting that you are an Influencer in Breakup & Divorce from Canada, yet you post a question about the US Vice President in the Marriage & Weddings category.
And you further biased your question with your "gorgeous and smart" comment which, as you see in some of the opinions, may not be valid.40 Reply Strange as in anomalous? Yes.
But just because a woman is gorgeous (subjective) or smart doesn't automatically make her a likeable person. She could have a very off-putting personality to guys. Plus her own pickiness can be a hindrance to finding someone.10 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNo. And this ”it’s not like she could not find people who like her” thing is some stupid bs. I see it sometimes, people expressing ”she’s so pretty why is she single, there are guys who’d be with her”. Yeah. Should she just take anybody willing then? The first guy who likes her? No. You know, SHE also need to like the person and feel like SHE want to spend the rest of HER life with him. Never considered she was unmarried because she didn’t find the guy she wanted to be married to? Or that she was unmarried because she didn’t want to be married at all or had other priorities in life? Believe it or not but not all women want to get married or even have a boyfriend at all!
00 Replykamala harris is ill equipped to handle the rigors of vice president or president.
it really does not matter how gorgeous she is or how she got married at 50. If you're not good at what you're doing, nobody will respect you.40 ReplyRegardless of how I feel about any politician, they are people too at the end of the day. So wtf do I care. If a woman was waiting all this time and finally found a man she's happy with at 50 then good for her
20 ReplyGorgeous and smart? Which Kamala Harris are you talking about?

+1 yI don't think she is gorgeous or as smart as she is portrayed, she basically got where she is by using sex. She's a horrible VP and it's sad people voted for Biden just to say we had a female VP (a worthless one at that). It's too bad we couldn't have had a woman on the ticket that was worthy of that position as there are many I can think of. However, the two party system in this country is broken and we have shit options to vote for every election, but that's a completely different topic.
30 ReplyNo because there is no right or wrong age to get married.
50 ReplyIt’s not strange that it took her until her 50s given she was infamous for having an affair with Willie Brown, a married man who was a powerful politician, in order to become prominent in California politics.

+1 yI believe that. And here's why!
There's a poem by Robert Frost from San Francisco California, who says, that if you don't read all that you need to know about what you want to do in your career by the time that you are 26 years old you might not be able to do it until you 5000 ReplyYes it's strange. Obviously or she wouldn't be a name that stands out for being in her 50s in her first marriage. She wasted her chance at a lot of what life's all about, including being able to have kids which turns out to be one of the most important things you should try to do in life.

Indeed. 🤨😒
She is career orientated. Such men/women tend to get into relationships later in life.

+1 yYou don't have to marry anyway. It doesn't mean she didn't have partners or long-term partners. Lots of people never marry. And some do ages after they started dating.
04 Reply- +1 y
And you think that's a good thing?
- +1 y
@Desire-for-Greatness Not marrying? Why would that be a bad thing? Marriage is a financial contract. Whether or not you want that contract is up to you.
- +1 y
Well of course it's just a contract if you have sex and live with a girl you haven't married, then wtf would be the meaning of marriage?
The west has a disintegrated image of what marriage should be.
It's a commitment, love, a plan, a plan to live together with your soul mate, make a family, and become a selfless person in the pursuit of your family's happiness.
All people care about nowadays is instant gratification via sex, and sex is very easy to get in the west because pre-marital sex is not only normalized but encouraged.
What a dystopian society... - +1 y
@Desire-for-Greatness "It's a commitment, love, a plan, a plan to live together with your soul mate, make a family, and become a selfless person in the pursuit of your family's happiness."
You don't need marriage for that, at all. You have people doing just that who are not married. And you have loads of married people divorcing all the time or cheating the hell out of each other. Marriage is just that: an economic contract. It was always meant that way. Why do you think fathers used to give dowries? That and to ensure the guy a lineage. That's all. For ages a huge number of (most?) marriages were not made out of love. But out of economic or social interests. Often the guy had to ask the father his permission to ask the woman's hand.
Your idea of marriage is a relatively modern one that is entirely independent of the institution of marriage itself. Now, marriage is simply a nice story, a big party, and a change of financial regime. The rest has nothing to do with marriage itself.
"pre-marital sex is not only normalized but encouraged"
How is that a problem? If you don't like it, you don't have to do it. Whatever floats your boat. But personally, I'm not hurt in my masculinity if the girl I'm seeing has slept with other men. I know I'm not the center of the universe.
"What a dystopian society..."
Yeah, a free society is sooo dystopian...
Excuse me, but gorgeous and especially smart are words that don't belong in the same sentence as that poor, unsuspecting woman that several very rich men decided should be VP

+1 yNo not really. I think people should get married when they are ready.

Actress, for the role as part of clown government she needed a ring on her finger
20 ReplyYeah don't women fear being alone for the rest of her life? You can focus on your career and have someone in your life at the same time. It's strange indeed
10 ReplyNah. Marriage means fuck all nowadays so why should I care when some random gets married?
+1 yNot at all, some don’t need a man to complete them, they complete themselves then end up finding someone who compliments them.
20 ReplyThere's a joke about that...
And she's not that smart, it takes a special kind of dumb to practice modern slavery.20 ReplyNo, people can get married when they want
