Husbands identical twin is dating and in “love”w/my husbands ex; she tried to get with my husband, after he told her we were together. What do I do?

Backstory- I started dating my husband 12 years ago, he went to a party and this girl who he claims was “just sex” tried to get with him- after he told her we were together. She then was very emotional and cried-seemed devastated. Now she is dating his identical twin, and they are “in love” My husbands family think I should just forgive and be okay with this because my BIL has been single for along time. I truley care about my brother in law, this situation literally makes me sick, the thought of having have holidays, just makes me sick. What should I do?

After all, your brother in law, or your husbands twin brother, isn’t your husband. I think she’s only dating the brother because he looks like your husband. It’s odd… But at least she isn’t trying to get with your husband… Right?


I’m sure it bothers the hell out of your husband too, how does he feel about it? I’m sure it’s not just you who feels a bit weird about this situation.

He is like eh she was just sex nothing more to me, yet I read in one of his journals from along time ago that he did love her. He is upset because it upsets me, and hates the divide this has caused.

I understand. However, he’s with you now. I don’t think he would still love her if you’re married, and if she’s with his brother.

Stop caring about your brother in law like that. He's a grown man - not a child - and you getting involved is going to seem like you care about him in the wrong way just like that woman cared about your husband in the wrong way. Imagine if your husband claimed he cares about that woman and just wants to help her find the right guy and needed to think about & talk about her 5 times a day. I bet you wouldn't like that. For a strong relationship we should avoid doing things we wouldn't want our spouse to do.

Also, it sounds like you have higher standards for the brother in-law than he has for himself. Think about it. Imagine if someone thought eating stale bread was the greatest food in the world. It's not your problem & even if you tried to help them they wouldn't let you so keep it moving. I'm sure you can think of better things to do with your free time.
