Did you marry against your parents/family's wishes? How did it work out?

This is a follow up to my previous post. My boyfriend's family said they will disown him if he marries me. He still wants to get married anyway. What should I do?

My family is very cool this way. They don't let skin colour factor in.

I did, and it worked out fine. His parents were a bit more upset, but they never showed that to me, and they accepted me fairly quickly. They called me their daughter once we got married. It's sweet.

I'm glad they got over it. People need things to open there eyes. We never know the wisdom of why people come into our lives.

I did when I was about 20yrs old. I was only married to him for 5yrs because he had an affair. I should of listened to my dad at that time but I was young and in love. 💕 Live & learn!

She's older than you (second wife, 6 years older and she had kids from 2 previous deadbeat dads).

Yeah, same issues I'm having. His people are like she's too old.

My people are all he's too young.

I have kids with the same man I was married to and he's involved.

I did. It worked the way it always does. I was on my own before that and after that.

It was doomed from very beginning. Nope it did not worked. I had no help. It was not meant to work any ways. I was with wrong person too.
