If there is no wedding ring on her finger does that mean she isn't married?

I was under the impression she was married but then she mentioned her housemate she lives with which in fact is another lady. She had no ring on her finger. Lastly noticed she attended a volunteer social evening at our volunteering event on Friday night. She didn't come with anyone

it does not. There’s no law that all married women must wear a ring on that finger. If you would like a date, then just ask. You don’t need to know her relationship status before asking, or her sexuality, or anything else. If she declines, the reason doesn’t matter.
