I know a couple of people who are waiting 6 years

Anyone who was not ready/doesn't want to get married within 5 years was an automatic no. It took my husband slightly over a year to propose. But we also got to know each other a lot faster than most people do. Also it was apparent from start to engagement that it was as perfect a match as was humanly possible. In general from what I've seen, it takes a man who is seriously and only dating for marriage about 2 years to propose.

We got married a year later on the day we met. That was 10 years ago last month.

I imagine the faster you get to know each other the faster you’ll both know.

I guess when he really trusts you after knowing everything about you, usually about 2 years is enough but some guys take longer
