A wife is called to submit to her husband, in otherwords to let him lead her and the family. Submission does not mean men have the green light to belittle their wife, humiliate their wife, harm their wife, abuse her and other things. For people who abuse their spouse are abusing the temple of God. God also calls for husbands to love their wife:

Ephesians 5:25-29

That is total hogwash! The man is the head of the household, but men should treat their wives as a rockstar on one hand and a rose petal on the other. Men should respect their wives as well as love them to the utmost heights. Women have their children, take care of the household, which is the hardest job you can have! Men and women should be partners in everything they do and they should come to an agreement on finances and important family decisions. However, all of that said... there are times in our society when we are dealing with others, especially when there is another man involved, the man of the house should take charge. It is his responsibility to flex his muscles, so to speak. The Bible teaches that God is the centerpiece of our lives once we are born again, and God is the head of our family; then the man; the woman next, and then the children. Men are born hunters and protectors. The man always (almost always) takes charge when searching for a mate, not the other way around. The man is the stronger of the humankind and in the animal kingdom. The woman shows love and protects her children while her man is out hunting (working).

Women and Men are equals in the family structure, in the modern world.

yes women are queens ! Women are strong physically and mentally ! They create ! they protect their children, and take care of their community. They can also have a great sense of leadership.

However, Men still have a responsibility to provide and protect. Women are biologically less stronger physically then Men ( they are shorter and have less muscles then Men, which is a fact ) . So… if sh*t goes down ( eg : there is a mega hurricane, a war, an alien attack ) , the Men will lead and protect their family. It always been like this because of … biology.

Context is everything. The context was a church meeting in the 1st Century Roman Empire. This was cultural, and even if people do not accept that, its application would still be specifically to the church meeting.
