No one respects you for getting married?

Someone from hiskool ran into me. Told me he got married. I didn't congratulate him or nothing. Bet he felt embarrassed.

Well getting married at 18 isn’t the most exciting thing. But in general I wouldn’t say no one respects others for getting married. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but people still congratulate others or even envy them for marriage.

Marriage produces more respect when it is two people who are already well respected and it is a good match. But respect from you would be an insult anyway.

You think because its a "good match" among respectable people you will respect it more on the grounds that they might treat the union more like a historically defined Marriage.

Thus it is hoped you might see from them the acts which carries on society: Actually having and raising children.

Hence the respect, Short of that there is no respect for there was nothing done of consequence for anyone else. Merely a proclamation of their feelings, which is no more our concern than it is of consequence.

You shouldn't be seeking attention and approval anyway. If you want to get married do it because you want to, not because someone is going to pat you on the head and give you a dog biscuit.

Why would anyone want to get "married"? What are they accomplishing with that act today?

You want a pat on the head you got to accomplish something for other people who pat your head, like secure the future for and with Children.

Today's new definition doesn't even secure the relationship. So why should even the parties involved assume the risk and costs?

In the 80's getting married was a great achievement, today not, because today precisely the dumbest men are those who get married.

In the 80s marriage still had a propose for most people. It was the securing of a union for the ultimate propose of actually having and raising children.

Since its been redefined as merely about expressing feelings and thus has nothing to do with the security of children, hence "Gay marriage".

So the institution is now effectively does nothing for anyone, including the 2 adults involved. So why should we care?

As an institution what the west calls "marriage" is effectively dead.

What we call "Marriage" has been redefined as a kind of friendship with feelings.

After all this new legal definition no longer requires parties of any any other particular capability (Children). Nor absence the needs that might arise from that capability does it secure said relationship in any meaningful way.

Today in the west "marriage" is just a friendship exclusively about the feelings of the parties involved. So why on Earth should anyone else care about that?

All friendships have feelings!
Like it or not for most of us those feelings come and go just like most of these newly defined as "marriage" relationships.

Meanwhile the children that happen to result from man-woman pairing get screwed without the relationship security of said institution.
Hence why a larger and larger number of them are ending up delinquent leading to an ever less functional society.

Western civilization may already be doomed, but whatever survives of us will have to reintroduce marriage. We humans simply cannot grow-up to be functional adults in large enough numbers without it.
