I have hear this from older people. I just want to see what other people's opinions are.
I doubt it, but I bet the belief would have some odd thing to do with:
if he sees you at your best, he may quickly get bored and not marry, or who knows, be intimidated?
The bride is supposed to look “her best”and in ancient times, be at her ‘purest.’
When I say doubt it, I seriously doubt it lol.
I may just follow the tradition because it’s not super “weighty” in my life, and such. It’s just a fun thing like Halloween, or so 😂. Just brighter and more special ☝️🥰

No. There’s not really such a thing as “luck”, good or bad. The myth stems from times when arranged marriages were the norm, yet the stereotype persisted that women are the prize. A man might catch a glimpse of the troll to which he was betrothed and skidaddle. Indeed unlucky for unbecoming women of the time, but nothing short of a godsend for a decent man. Ell oh ell!

That is a very old and tradtional superstition.

It's horrible luck. He would see how sexy and attractive his bride-to-be is, yet can't do anything about it, except for maybe one or two things he shouldn't be doing on his wedding day.
Only if you are superstitious
Well, a lot of times in wedding culture they do the "first look" now, which is often done before the wedding.
So maybe the superstition is fading? It is an old tradition.
Some do, many don't.
We did our pictures before the actual ceremony, and so far so good.
My first marriage I didn't see her until she walked down the isle and that one did not last.
Go figure! It's a very old tradition honestly. A lot of cultures have it surprisingly. But more recently for a friend of mine, its used when the bride doesn't want the groom to see how she looks wearing the dress on the actual day until the walk in. Nothing much other than that
No! It's not a bad luck. It's just a stupid superstition thing people had few years back. There still people freak out out there when they see a black cat, for me! That tells me how low IQ someone has without telling me they have a low IQ.
Probably not but I'm superstitious enough to believe it haha
They just don’t want the bride to mess up her dress, hair, and makeup when the groom pushes her up against the wall or pounds or on a sofa. So, they keep them apart.
Bad luck? Not at all... but it IS bad luck for the groom to see any of the bridesmaids WITHOUT a dress before the wedding ;)
It’s an old superstition, if you ask me; I actually heard this was started by men to avoid having to do dress shopping with his wife, which if true is actually quite hilarious if you ask me.
I am not really superstitious but I didn't want to take any chances.
Yeah went to a wedding once groom saw her and got cold feet maybe he realized it was real and then dude dipped.
Not really, my dad was there when they were selecting my mom's wedding dress. They are happy couples even after 15 years.
Not really.
I lived with my ex for 5 years before we got married so I think I watched her get ready on our wedding day.
No more than seeing her out of her dress, and the rest of her clothes, before the wedding.
In every case where the groom has seen the bride before the wedding on the wedding day, the marriage lasted less than 100 years. That’s pretty much the definition of bad luck right there.
It is for her if she's always worn a veil is ugly or deformed and he's never seen her before and is shallow
Well it seems to be everywhere, I don't believe in those, if God wanted he would have separated us long again
Older people? You are 31 pretending to be 21.
It’s just a tradition. Some people are very superstitious about these things though.
