If a woman is in charge of the marriage do you think it will last?

For me I'm more of letting the man in charge on the relationship/marriage but other friends of mine dont seem to think that. They say happy wife, happy life. Which I call bullshit.

no it won't last. there's too much evidence to prove it won't last. leadership is a tough challenge many aren't ready for nor do they understand.

by accepting a leadership role, one must accept the responsibilities that come with that role. do you want to be "mean bad parent" who refuses to buy your kid an expensive toy or do you want to be the parent whom the kid runs to for comfort? sure you may agree with the "mean bad parent" but on the flipside, the kid won't look at you in a bad light.

"happy wife, happy life" = entitled woman, unhappy man, failed marriage.

Exactly right. A lot of men I know are like that. Then I wonder why they are window shopping.

I think there's needs to be balance. It isn't one in charge or the other. I think, though, there's an element of truth to "happy wife / happy life" but not because she should always get her way or she should be in charge but because when one member of the marriage is unhappy, all are unhappy. Both partners should work to create and maintain harmony.

It depends --problem is, people don't talk about such matters beforehand. If you want to dominate someone's life, the least you could do is be very upfront and set expectations I, or example, have a set of rules that you must follow, and if you're unwilling to follow them, then you can live an empty life with some simp.

If the woman has a clear direction in the relationship, is able to put feelings aside, focus on the practical applications, work regardless of the consequences and protect the weakness of their partner then yes it can last.

Women initiate divorce more often than men, so women can't be trusted with that.
