When an attractive 30 year old marries a 20 year old, do you wonder what the guy was doing in his 20s that he never married?

He probably had several girlfriends before he was 30 like I did, but wasn't ready to get married. He wasn't settled in his career, didn't have assets built up, wasn't done being free, enjoying life and exploring the world, and wasn't mentally mature enough to settle down. By 30, he was ready to find his life partner and start the final chapter in his life.
It's not hard to understand.

Most likely he dated lots of women before deciding to settle down. That's pretty common for guys in their 20s. I had zero interest in marriage until my 30s.

most young men aren't seen as attractive by the majority of women. they lack money, status, muscles, a masculine facial appearance and an acne-clear face etc

unless they lucked up as a pro-athlete or movie star that makes millions of dollars right off the bat, the average young man needs to work his tail off in order to get his own car, his own home, his own independence etc. before women start to find him attractive

Not really. We pressure people to remain single and pursue highly specialized degrees or high-pressure careers in order to make the elites richer than they already are. Men don’t feel the same kind of biological pressure to have children when they are young. With an abundance of people willing to have casual sex, they feel no pressure to marry in order to have access to sex. Therefore, a man can simply play and work hard in his twenties and if he gets well established enough to maintain a household he’ll be able to attract a 20-something woman who wants to have children fairly easily. This begs the question of whether the feminist movement was really good for women.

No, usually guys have to get careers, get jobs, get their purpose and finances in order before girls will want marriage. Guys take longer to "grow up" too. No biological clock to force them to expedite things.

Some girls want to marry a 20-21 year old guy but tons of women want "successful" men and want their man pre-assembled and don't want to grow with him or start at the bottom with him. They want him after he's already reached the finish line.

Perhaps that guy wanted to solely focus on his life and career before he settled down. Or, he went through a bad back break up that caused him to have trust issues with women. There are a multitude of reasons. At any rate, I try not to judge another person’s love life. I don’t know what they’ve gone through. Therefore, who am I to judge?

Well I'm was 34 and married my 2nd wife when she was 22. In my 20's I got married at 21, and joined the military, while away she cheated and we divorced. So I dated a lot and was always moving around. Knowing the tough life military can bring and seeing many marriage ending, I knew I won't married again until I left, because I won't want to put that pressure on a woman I loved. So when I go out, I meet a women, who I thought was older, until I found out her age, because she acted older. And we hit it off.

No I don't wonder. He was becoming the kind of man a woman wants to marry. Go to a college campus and observe the 20 something male students. Why would ANY woman want a long term commitment with the majority of them?

He was living his best life in his 20s and was focused on other stuff other than marriage. I don't see nothing wrong in that.
