The 30 year guy and the 29 year old woman have a lot more in common and the guy does not have to worry about the 29 year old being a gold digger unlike the younger woman they don't work and expect 30 year olds to pay for everything.

@alwayreckles93- dont know about gold diggers but all relationships are traditionally an exchange bw the man's resource provisioning and the woman's sexual-reproductive exclusivity. I never said that young women were poor, however hypergamy ensures that they find attractive men who have more resources than them. In most of the world a woman aged 30 would be considered too old for marriage or long term relationship.

I highly doubt being "only" a year younger than him is going to scare someone away. People (mostly) date because of personality and compatibility. It's really, really hard to be happy when you are neutral, dislike, or actively hate your SO.

If my SO has a house, a career she enjoys and is paid well, and good credit (I guess, it's mostly a govt sponsored scam), then I'd be happy and proud of her. Not worrying about age different of a single year.

What are you really asking? If the age is a "deal breaker"? No, but it depends on the specific guy and if he is looking for a relationship leading to marriage in the first place. Age specifically isn't a "deal breaker" if that's what he's looking for. Other factors like career, income etc are pieces of the pie, meaning there are many factors someone should/will look at, and not all technical either, feelings etc also.

No, pedophilia is when someone of legal age chases after someone, sexually, that is not of legal age. Once they're both legal, it no longer matters how old they are. Even if it's a case of them turning 18 (or whatever legal is) a day apart. They're both 17, they can fuck all they want. As soon as the older of the two turns 18, they can't touch the younger of the two until the next day with the younger becomes 18, too. However, I really don't think anybody will raise a stink over the younger being illegal for one day, seeing as how they've already been together for the previous few weeks/months/years.
