Do you believe in marriage?

Question

Marriage is a partnership and partnerships imply two things...✍🏾

1) When you're weak, you can rely on your partner to be strong; so ask them for help when you need it.

2) When your partner is weak, you have an opportunity to uplift them and be strong for them; so offer your help when it's needed.

Remember, God designed marriages this way because he knows we need another individual to round us out and lift us up when we're feeling inadequate.

I do believe in marriage. I belive everything you say, with the right partner marriage makes life easier. An example one couple said: you and your partner both have to give 100% of their energy to the marriage. If I only have 30% of my energy left, and my partner has 70% of energy to give. We make a perfect 100% marriage. However, if my partner only has 40% of his energy left and I also only have 40% to give, that means our marriage is 80%, and we need to sit and talk to somehow make up for that 20%.

I’m not against marriage, for other people. If you want to get married, fantastic! I’m happy for you. But I’m personally not interested in it. Everything that’s in a marriage, I can easily have without marriage. I don’t need to sign an expensive bit of paper just to spend my life with someone that I love. And it’s a lot lighter on my wallet if we split up.. no expensive divorce or paying for lawyers.

I am married and have been for many years. We've had our ups and downs but for the most part we get along great. I love what we've built together.
Marriage isn't for everyone though. Some people don't ever want to get married because they love their freedom to come and go as they please and not have to answer to anyone.
Other people have been married and it didn't work out between them and decided to never get married again.

Marriages actually exists, so unlike god which doesn't exist, no one has to believe in marriages.
Also the main point of getting married is comfort, relatability, sex, and a best friend who never leaves or cheats on you. If you view a spouse like a utility rather than a loved one, it won't work out. But yes spouses should lift eachother up during hard times, but its not the primary reason to marry.

I do believe in marriage, but that's because I do not consider the state-sanctioned "marriage" to be a proper marriage. As a man, I would never dare to rely on my wife in my times of weakness if we were in a state-sanctioned "marriage".

However, it works perfectly fine in the true, traditional, purely Catholic (or otherwise religious, but I'm assuming my personal perspective on this topic) marriage. With God on our side and being ready to help each other out, we'd have nothing to fear.

I know that marriage is not for everyone, and people give a million reasons to bail out. But there is only one thing that matters, my vow. I promise my husband that I will stay with him, for better and for worse, for rich and for poor, in good times and bad, forsaking all others. And that promise is a promise made in the sight of God.

I don't believe in it for the purpose of having offspring, and i think while in a perfect world I wouldn't mind marriage, even then I wouldn't want kids and I'm quite happily single in this reality.

sounds fantastic in theory but in my experience chicks are fair weather friends these days.
And losing your kids to the cnut or your house isn't fun.
Staying single is the only path to protect your well being in my opinion

Marriage is a scam for men. We literally get nothing out of it. If divorced we lose half our things, don’t get to see our kids, pay child support. Marriage means less sex. Literally nothing.
