Suggestion: have a very small wedding, and throw a party later to celebrate. Then you can just tell them that you got married but it was just you and the witnesses. Then don't invite them to the party. That will work well if you don't live in the same town.

That would be a bif problem if you had a regular wedding. Your family and others would wonder what the heck is going on.

If you really don't want to invite your family, consider eloping, maybe with a few close friends as witnesses.

We didn't invite any family member or friends to our wedding. It's all good. Our wedding is about us only not about our family and friends is not necessary for them to be present.

You could have a very simple wedding with just the two of you but if you invite her family and not yours. Your family will probably feel a negative way about it.

It's unusual, but I don't see anything wrong with not inviting them. My husband and I eloped for that same reason. All the weddings I have ever been in or attended had some sort of family issue at the reception or throughout the planning process. The wedding needs to be a special day between the couple tying the knot and not about the guests. Let's face it, some people need to draw attention to themselves at the expense of others. I say elope my friend!
