Do any of you really have a back-up guy/girl, if you're not married by a certain age?

Some people have made a pact with someone, that if they aren't married by a certain age, they will marry each other. Don't know if this is more of a tv myth, then reality, but does anyone actually think that's a good idea or has actually committed that to someone?

I am sure if I want to marry, I can find someone very easily and quickly. There have been a few this year, who were interested in that.

I’ve never heard of anyone saying or doing this, unless it’s in jest.
Not everyone is looking to settle or get married and many people lead perfectly happy lives being single. I think you’d have to be desperate or stupid to marry someone you aren’t wholly in love with.

Only on TV. I can't even comprehend it. I would be lucky to even talk to a lady around my age who is single, even 10-15 years ago, makes no difference. It never happens almost as if I'm on a deserted island 🏝 🤷🏻‍♂️

A lot of women have admitted to having a back-up guy who they keep around in the friend-zone which is disrespectful to both her current boyfriend and the backup guy and a it's major reason why I would never allow a woman I am taking seriously to have male friends.

I've heard stories of people going through with it. Oddly enough, I most often hear it among lesbians. I myself haven't made any pact like that, nor do I know anyone personally who has. I just see the stories online.
