What do you think of women proposing instead of men?

I’ve seen some videos online of women proposing to men and some of them are honestly very cute while others just come off as very desperate.

I think every relationships different so some it might work and others it might not. For me personally I think it wouldn’t work since in the future I think I’d probably want to be proposed to and I’m just not that direct of a person so I don’t think I’d have the courage to do something like that.

She can do whatever she wants. But in my opinion, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Most women still want the whole romance, him planning something memorable, getting down on his knee. Revealing his love for her so much that he wants to spend the rest of his life w her. The chemicals released in her body making it that much more emotional. I don’t think it’s a good idea for women to ask because it tends to take men in my opinion a little longer to k is what they want in a relationship. It takes us longer to get in tune w those feelings of whether we really love her or it’s based on infatuation. Men have their reasons for not proposing eight away like maybe he doesn’t feel financially ready. Maybe he wants to have more in the way of finances to make sure she has a better life. So when he’s ready he will ask. If he’s not asking chances are he isn’t ready for whatever reason. So I say no cause you’re going to put him on the spot when he’s may not be ready

The problem to me is like if we're going by these traditions, and flipping the gender roles, are we going to just cherry pick which ones we reverse or reverse it all the way?

Like if a woman asks a man out on a date, is she going to pay for the date? Or is she just going to ask him out, decide where to go, and then expect him to pay for it? Since that seems a bit unfair to me if she gets the privilege of leading on the date but not the associated responsibility and cost of leadership.

So to me these gender traditions tend to come bundled in with privileges and costs, and to me it's unfair if we're going by traditions whatsoever for someone to cherry pick the privileges but still leave the other person with the costs.

so, so. a lot of the time i see chicks trying to rush into marriage because they want kids. if you want kids have kids. BUT, i would totally propose to a dude if i thought it was the right time. you just have to propose like a guy would, and then you're fine. it's weird when people make it "we've been dating for 2 years so now I'M gonna propose instead"

In a relationship, either partner can propose. A proposal usually happens when both partners know they are ready to get married. Sometimes, they both kind of propose together, like @exitseven describes.

I would say I don't have a problem with it if others do it, that is their decision but for me I would not be a fan of it honestly. I would not want a girl to propose to me. I wouldn't mind if a girl asked me out that is a little different but a proposal I would not be a fan of. But I'm pretty sure any girl that was going out with me would know that.

It's only red-pill loser men who want women to do everything, including their jobs. They are used to living in their mom's basement and having their mom do everything for them and expect a woman to do all the work in the relationship.

I can see some people doing it. I never actually proposed to my wife. We both just knew we were going to end up together. Looking back I wish a made a bigger deal about it.

No. Marriage is a traditional institution with the man as the head of the house and the woman as head of the family. If the man is to be the leader he should be the one to propose.
