Is it appropriate for a married woman to take any man into the house while her husband is away?

No, obviously it's completely appropriate to allow a tradesman into the house when the husband isn't there. Like OBVIOUSLY! What are plumbers supposed to do, work their regular hours in the evenings and weekends to suit your husband’s schedule? No, you’re paying a premium to get a plumber or A/C repairman out at night.. As you should! Now, should a married woman be letting an old friend from college, or high school into your home when your husband is not there… I would say hell no! It gives the appearance of impropriety, and over time when enough of those little “huh, why didn't she just tell me” things build up, you could seriously damage, if not outright destroy your marriage. Most men think when there’s smoke, there’s fire. You being seen by neighbors to be inviting different men into your house who did not arrive in a white van with “Bubba’s Plumbing” on the side, can lead to mistrust within the marriage, and mistrust is the death nail in any marriage!

I used have to let guys in all the time while my boyfriend was at work. Once they were working on the house and I was getting changed because it was like 7am and I shut my room door but he came through the hole in the wall and I was like "sorry I am getting dressed can you not coming here" (it was my fault I should have went in the bathroom) he went outside and waited because he was really worried but I was like its fine it's no big deal lol Men are not as crazy perverted as women make it seem lol.

As long as the husband knows about it beforehand—or if she can reasonably assume he'd be okay with it, and tells him at the time or when she next sees him—then I think it's fine. I'd say the same for a man letting a woman into the home when his wife isn't around, for the same reasons. Communication and trust is the most important.
