My wife and I have been happily married for almost 28 years.

I know the password to her phone. I don't even have one on mine. But the last thing either of us are interested in is checking each other's emails.

I know the password to her iPad. She knows the password to my laptop. But, again, the last thing either of us are interested in is snooping through each other's devices.
That would be creepy and dishonest.
