Yes, many people do, and I could certainly see myself doing that. I mean, I'd want to be very careful and take it slow, obviously. I see marriage as building a legacy with someone who can and will go the distance. Life is very challenging at times and full of twists and turns. It's good to be able to rest in knowing someone has your back, even when we are imperfect, weak and/or vulnerable.
I'd want to get to know him really well, and then eventually meet in person and get to know him in the context of his friends and family. I'd want to learn how he deals with conflict and differences and what motivates him. I'd want to be sure we shared the same values and priorities, even if our interests and ways of doing things differed.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do soon, within these months. Though, we did meet in person in Nov 2023.

I don't see an issue with how I meet a girl. As long as we're compatible (physically attracted to each other, similar views, interests, sense of humor, communication style [as in love languages and the way we express ourselves], goals in life [like where we want to be in 20 years], sexual compatibility, etc.)

Online dating services is just a way people meet that are unlikely to meet under normal circumstances. So the answer to your question is, yes. If I met someone on-line that I thought was the one, then I would be in a position to marry them.
