Actually yes! From an evolutionary biological standpoint, historically men marry/mate for offspring (yes, meaning sex), while women marry/mate for safety, security, and a provider of food for her children. (Yes, equating in modernity to money) however...

Today that’s not always the case, with more women entering college each year than men, and even more women graduating than men, as well as corporate recruiting being heavily biased in favor of women, and the highest wage jobs in many fields now going to women. That between the ages of 25 - 37 women out earn men, but by age 38 men in those fields begin to overtake overtake women as the higher wage earners, as the women assume the responsibilities of raising their children. But it is not uncommon in Gen Z, and even in some Millennial couples for the wife to out earn her husband for the first 10 to 15 years of their marriage.

Areas where women earn more than men
Areas where women earn more than men
More women enroll in college than men, and even MORE graduate than men

Today, yes obviously some women marry men for money, and we have a name for those women, they are called gold-digging whores! These women however dominate the guest spots on internet “dating” podcasts! This is giving men a skewed and completely unintentional biased view of modern women and our behavior in today's dating marketplace. Let’s face it if men saw that on every dating show, that men who wear green sneakers got laid 200% more often than those w/o green sneakers, most men would buy some green sneakers. (and who could blame them). By seeing almost nothing but either virgins or heartless gold digging unintelligent whores on these podcasts, their view of women in the dating marketplace cannot help but become “black-pilled”! (slang for developing a negative opinion) However, men do not marry for sex! Men can get sex without marriage! It’s no secret that women are the stereotypical "gatekeepers of sex". (*Source #1*) while men are the stereotypical “gatekeepers of relationships”. According to the UF study above, women desire sex just as much as men, but are more willing to wait until we are in a committed relationship. Surprisingly, men too desire long term partners, and often feel societal pressure to be promiscuous, or be thought of as somehow weak, effeminate, or somehow “less than” a man. Men in the UF study indicated that they worry about “the cost” and “risk” of sleeping with many individual women, such as pregnancy and STI’s (STD’s) and that worry can be crippling, and makes them worry about engaging in casual sexual encounters. Especially given all the horror stories of the vindictive ex-wife who poisons his child against him, and takes half his stuff. (and again, who can blame them?). There needs to be a social reckoning with women who behave like that. Women who weaponize their children to get revenge on their ex, women who seek revenge by financially, destroying their ex, and women who falsely accuse men of domestic violence, and sexual violence to gain a perceived advantage in a divorce proceeding, or break-up. I propose that woman who are proven to make a false allegation against a man (or vice versa), that the false accuser must be subject to the exact amount of time in prison that the victim would have received had they been falsely convicted of the crime that was made up for revenge!

Clearly there is plasticity in the gendered sexual rolls, and absent the taboo of having multiple partners like we see today, women are taking on a more stereotypical masculine attitude towards sex and sexuality, and many college aged women are having more sex with more male partners. This move towards “hook-up culture” is leading women to become much less satisfied with sex. In a Canadian study specific to “hook-up culture”, women expressed dissatisfaction with the multi-partner sex paradigm, with one female psychology student stating “I personally just don't feel comfortable being sexually vulnerable with someone who's not committed to me,” said third-year psychology student Janay Ferguson. “Sex comes with emotions and I think it is an emotional thing. I'm a very intuitive person and in touch with my emotions like that.”. Another stated “I feel like [with people I’ve slept with in the past], all of them gave me bad energy after,” she continued, “I was like ‘OK, I feel like shit about myself. I don't feel like myself anymore, I don't know what's going on. That's why I'm kind of picky about who I sleep with... so that I know their intentions and energy are good so that I’ll know I’ll feel good after I've done the deed.”
    Source: #2 (below)

As for the idea that men are only interested in sex, this too turns out not to be true, and most men have similar emotional desires for relationships as women do, but societal pressures and fear of mockery from both their male peers as well as women, causes them to put on a facade of tough masculine indifference when it comes to sex and sexuality. This is not a new concept. In a 11 year old article. Published in The Thought Catalog, in 2013. Many men confirmed this in a study, with one man stating " men almost always have a deep desire to connect emotionally, yet if we admit it, and bring our own emotions to the table, it would not only compromise our masculinity in the eyes of our friends but also in the eyes of the woman we’re pursuing. It’s an impossibly sharp double-edged sword.”
    Source: #3 (below)

For men, they tend to fear betrayal, which leads to them losing access to their children, and losing significant financial resources. For women, we tend to worry about betrayal that leads to us being left to raise our children on our own. The fear of this is so great because nowadays the overwhelming majority of divorces are filed by women. Which only serves to reinforce the fear that men have of being forced into a situation, against their will, where they lose their home, a substantial portion of their income, and access to their children, because their wife wanted something more! However, studies show that couples who wait until marriage before they move in together will drastically reduce their risk of getting divorced. In a study by The Institute for Family Studies. they report, “In relative terms, the marriages of those who moved in together before being engaged were 48% more likely to end than the marriages of those who only cohabited after being engaged or married,” Maybe that is the answer to quell the fears of both men and women. If you don't move in together before you're married, you have a 48% greater chance of having a successful life, long marriage. (says the woman who moved in with her fiancé last October! 🙄 )
    Source: #4 (also below)

In summary, yes, some women marry for money, and some, although far fewer, men marry for sex. But marriage for the purpose of greed is at one far end of a spectrum, and marriage strictly for sex is at the other end of that spectrum. The overwhelming majority of human beings fall somewhere in the middle. Human beings, simply long to find that one special person who will love them unconditionally, will not leave them for someone else because, in the case of low character men, they are younger and better looking, or, in the case of low character women they are better looking, or older. But either way, they have more money. As human beings we want to be loved and accepted by our lover, our boyfriend/girlfriend, and especially our spouse! We also long for a relationship that lasts for the rest of our life! But it is vitally important to understand that neither men, nor women are a monolith! There are plenty, and I mean, millions of really great guys out there who would make excellent lifelong husbands. There are also millions of women out there who are really sweet and kind and loving, and most importantly, faithful. There are men and women who take their vows seriously, or in the case of a relationship, take their commitment seriously. There are also women out there who have more money than the man they love could ever hope to earn in his lifetime. They want to be with that man because they love him, NOT because of what “resources" he can provide FFS! Stereotyping an entire gender is literally NO different to racism. It’s generalizing an entire group of people simply based on the behavior of a small albeit vocal minority! It never turns out good, and the practice merely betrays the ignorance of the person who holds those arcane and bigoted ideas.

I really hope this helps. I put a lot of work and research into this, b/c it's important!
    Sincerely, Laura 🤗 🥰

In my experience that's true for men. Not true for women. Not sure if that's a cultural thing? Coming from a place (UK) where women are largely able to advance in careers and financially support themselves. Maybe other places where the hierarchy of men supporting the woman is still prevalent then yes I'm sure knowing the man can support her (and any offspring) is a legitimate concern.

Both sexes would like want love to be in the equation too. Hopefully first. Or a very close second.

Sadly , that is true for the most part , why people shouldn’t get married without looking at the big picture first , because if that’s the case? that marriage will more than likely not last the long haul especially if the marriage turns one sided People are better off finding a partner that wants to work with you and not against you , someone that has your back the same way you have theirs , Money and Sex doesn’t buy Love , Love only comes when 2 people choos each other no matter what happens over everything else in this world , making each other their top priority , I know so many girls’ that married for money and they are so miserable and unhappy in their marriages , they cheat on their husbands left and right , and I am sure he is doing the same to her or he doesn’t have a clue , The bottom line is most people are selfish and only really care about what is best for themselves , they are only happy when things go their way , that isn’t love , that is using someone as a convenience, Do not marry someone , that is only after one thing from you , you will kick yourself in the ass when the truth shines People that are users will never experience true love because they are selfish people. I knew a girl that was married and her husband worked his ass off the provide for her , the second he lost his job , she ran out and spread her legs for another guy to take care of her , I lost all respect for that girl and if I ever run into her again , I would spit in her face for being such a selfish whore , I can not stand people that have selfish mindsets that way , I think they are the biggest scum on this Earth. They have no dignity or respect for anyone but themselves. I also have a few exes that did the same shit to me when things weren’t going her way , that’s why they are exes.

No. Men can get sex w out marriage these days. I think men truly marry for love. That’s why it takes us so damn long to commit, but when we do it’s cause we love the person. I think you’re right on the female part, not all, but a lot. A man can be ugly as hell but have a lot of money, he’ll still get women coming after him.

I think that's probably true in many cases, but my goal is to marry a woman who will let me spoil her rotten, without ever letting me have any penetrative sex with her, while she enjoys the freedom to date other guys whenever she wants, and she'll still get my money, too 🤗

Billie, askers don't reply. It is said that oysters are an aphrodisiac. What food has the opposite effect?

@Guacamole409 I've read that excessive amounts of salt can reduce libido in men, because it tends to drive their blood pressure up.

The exact opposite of an aphrodisiac is wedding cake.

This is common knowledge. The club was in stitches. We were all in tears. Billie, I don't know if you've ever gone fishing, but once the fish is in the boat, you no longer need lures.

@Guacamole409 that's a bit tough to grasp. Wouldn't the cake be an *alternative* to aphrodisiac?

Also to @Billlewis, slightly increased blood pressure is erectogenic. And salt also increases blood volume, which means all muscles get more engorged.

@Tiktok_Broccoli_Girl Yes, ma'am, I'm aware of that, though I certainly appreciate the introduction to the actual medical/scientific terminology, but it's been my understanding that this boost of muscle and erectile tissue is often quite brief and transitory, and can be as little as a few hours, if my memory serves me correctly, which, by extension, requires the couple to have intercourse posthaste, lest the proverbial window of opportunity closes before they're able to 'do the deed', but that's probably small potatoes, unless the guy is in poor health, etc.

Fairly much so. Very convenient to have your wife beside you in bed when you feel horny. Do you know how hard it is to get girls out of bars?

Women marry for resources I'd say and $s are just another resource. So is your time, so don't expect to much of that to do hobbies.

I think this is part of the truth. These are both natural instincts for each gender. Males are made for sex and females are made to find a provider for her and her babies.

But both also enter the relationship with romantic feelings that it gives them pleasure to express. It isn't ALL about natural instinct (although you can't rule out that romance and even love are just tricks of nature to get male and female together so the species will survive.)

Eh. These days if what a guy is after is sex, there are much, MUCH easier ways to get it, you can get it more cheaply AND you can get SUBSTANTIALLY higher quality AND variety. Marriage is hardly a requirement for sex. We haven't lived in 1950 for 74 years. Yet somehow this moronic sentiment (men marry for sex) continues on to this day.
