No. I think it's insane to wearing something that cost as much as a new car on your finger. I don't know what mine cost and I don't want to know.

The idea of an engagement ring was for the man asking you to be his bride show that not only is he committed to her until you marry but also he can provide for her. Nowadays it goes hand in hand with the big expensive wedding. Some women won't accept less than $12,000 spent and if she has a sister or friend who has a more expensive ring hers has to match it. So you see a lot of couples saving up to buy her a big fancy engagement ring and the same with thd wedding, which why so many don't get married and have kids until they are in their 30s. Couples these days land themselves with thousands of pounds or dollars in debt what with matching student loan debt, the engagement ring, the wedding day, the honeymoon, vacations, his and her cars and then the cost of having kids. It's no wonder the divorce rate is so high as they've taken the joy out of being engaged, getting married and being married.

Absolutely not. I do believe a ring is a nice symbol of love and I personally plan on getting my future partner a ring I find is beautiful. I don't care if it's $300 or $5000. I'm definitely not going over that though. Anything over that is too much and stupid to spend on. There are much more important things in life... vacation and travel, house, retirement, kids, family, etc.

I don't believe the cost or size of the ring matters at all. I've always just liked the gesture of getting a ring and proposing for my partner. If the size of cost of the ring matters, then that means Elon Musk's love is greater than any other man's love. That makes no sense.

I find the concept of 3 months worth of your salary for a ring to be a disgusting one. Anyone who believes that the size and cost of a ring matters is materialistic and and not worth that kind of money in the first place. They'll just leave you if you're in a tough spot financially.

If you're happy with your ring, that's all that matters! It's about the sentiment behind the gesture, not the size of the gesture.

I think the bling only matters as a show of status... If the guy has bread to throw around, I do think women should be a little more insistent about having something nice on their finger. At the end of the day, it's the woman's opinion that matters.

If a man made $200 per month and he spent $100 on an engagement ring, that would be such a beautiful and profound statement about how he views that relationship. If the same $100 was spent by a man who makes $15,000 in a month, the gesture takes on a very different flavor.

What I find comical is women obsess over the engagement ring, when it's a new tradition that was instigated by the diamond cartels to sell more diamonds. This happened in the 1920's. Prior to that the engagement ring just didn't exist.

And women that place so much stock in a dollar amount aren't worth marrying. They will divorce you and take half of your stuff.

My own wife's engagement ring was 100 bucks. But over the years it got combined with the wedding band, and added to, so that now it's unique, and easily worth 10 times that much.

If a woman really loves her man the size and type of stone in the Engagement would not matter, I've know more than a few women who've opted for plain silver rings with a couple of small stones,

I don't know if that is just their personalities or the fact there have been cases over the last couple of years where the the woman refused to return the Engagement Ring resulting them going to court over really expensive Engagement Ring, which resulted in the judges saying the Engagement Rings were a 'gift' and not a symbol of an intention to marry - this could also explain why Men are getting understated Engagement Rings

I don't mind the ring size and how much money he make in a month. It don't matter at all. As long as he loves me, he plan our future, he don't waste money, he is faithful, responsible, gentle and kind to me.
And I appreciate the idea that he is willing to surrender his life as free man and spend a lifetime with me.. I'm happy with that.

I never got an engagement ring. He proposed spontaneously and we got married the same day. Picked out wedding bands afterwards. That's all I wanted, because I mostly just wanted that man... for the rest of our lives!

I think style and taste goes over just the size of the diamonds.
