Has divorce become fashionable for women?

Question

Lately it seems women are wearing the "divorced" label like a badge of honor. I am amazed at how many women still in their 20's who have been married and divorced and jump right back on the carousel purporting to be "mature" women as they have a divorce under their belt.

Ladies, being divorced is not something of which you should be proud.

Divorce happens. Judging people without knowing all of the details is poor work ethics from a cop. There is always more to the story. You know this. Details in each instance matter. There is never a right or wrong party, both sides contribute to a relationship not working out. Be it poor match to begin with and one was desperate and hoping the other would change and clinging on until emotions get hostile. To either or both being abusive. Variables are endless. Some get freedom and brag that freedom. They are damaged and attempting to heal in their own ways. Who says they can't? Life is hard enough. Don't like certain people move on.

not really... for men and women it means that something in the relationship didn't work and there was a need to end it...

it's hard today, because people don't really ask "what happened", they base on their own assumptions that rarely are accurate and matching one's divorce situation...

but i think women are more independent, they don't need a man to survive... so it's easier to make an ultimate decision...

and it's good... life is too short to spend it in kot working relationship... so it's good for both sides, both partners can move on and build a new life using lessons learned in the past

It's not so much that divorce is fashionable. It's more that commitment among women is unfashionable. Half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and study after study has shown that lack of commitment is the #1 reason for divorce. What does that say about modern women's sense of commitment?

Not really but it is very easy for them as there are no consequences for them.

Divorce is a business in my country which is supported by courts some girls marry and get separated from 2-3 men and finally settle for a lump sum amount (one-time settlement) from all the men as the law says when your wife asks for a divorce or you ask for it for any reason only men have to pay lump sum settlement to the woman, only pressure from society, religion and the potential for revenge is hindering them from coming into the mainstream

I'd say yes. Since like 80% are initiated by women, many times the reasons are, I fell out of love, I'm not happy, bored, need something new, grew apart.

Many women are never happy or content, women run more off of feelings than they do logic, the state rewards them financially when there is a divorce. She pledged to be faithful but if she cheats the state doesn't penalize her for breaking the vow but the state awards alimony and makes the man still pay the women years after she broke the vow/contract.

I don't think it's fashionable. It's just that with social media today everything becomes content. If you get a divorce that becomes your brand for a while. Plus if you feel insecure about something, you cover it up with vibrato.

I do think it's a shame that there are so many people who get divorced. Especially if you have kids. However, I don't think couples should stick together if they are unhappy.

I do think there is a tendency among some people too split to fast. If you are young, hot and have the means, why not get someone better? BUUUUUTTTT I don't think we should judge every divorce. I don't know the full story and I don't want too. It's there business and frankly I don't care.

Well divorce grants women everything the man worked his whole life to achieve so I'd day it is. Women do initiate majority of divorced and due to no fault divorce men will always get the shit end if the stick unless no fault divorce is done away with. It won't be though because women would just bitch about it like they do with everything else

Not me but it happened to someone else. She would've probably stayed married if he didn't have a 2 year-old affair and gotten the mistress pregnant. No woman is going to forgive that.

They wear it as a badge of honor if they benefitted financially. Divorce is super easy and thankfully divorce proofing your assets is also becoming easier so you don't lose anything even without a prenup

It's been happening among wealthy people and in Hollywood forever.
I don't think normal girls consider it "fashionable", though. Maybe women just don't need to stay in bad marriages anymore, like they did before they could get jobs and own their own property.

The only reason for a marriage contract to exist is so a woman can get divorced. Marriage was never an institution about love. Modern marriage was created to sell Real Estate and have Children. Nowadays woman can just get married to some guy that has some money and collect child support while shacking up with another guy. That way they have two paychecks. Modern Marriage is not in the Bible and nobody really has respect for the institution anymore.
