Women, what is your taste for wedding ring? Guys what's the most you'd blow on a ring?

I know some people on here aren't materialistic but let's you are going to get the ring anyways, what type of metal and what type of rock?

I don't think I have a limit, I think based on what I have I'll know how much to blow and I personally have no limit when it comes to max, so if I'm rich Im finding the best ring, unless the woman has a ring preference in mind, then in the case I'll buy what would satisfy her brain.

Simple as possible bc I work with my hands a lot (and "talk with my hands") so I don't want some obnoxious or clunky thing on my hand the whole time. A wedding ring is supposed to stay on your hand forever (unless you bloat during pregnancy, in which case it goes on a chain till a month or so after the baby).

I had a guy friend who TOOK OUT A LOAN to pay for his gal's stupidly expensive "set" (The whipping diamond engagement ring with a rock the size of my eye and the diamond-encrusted wedding band that fits around the engagement ring.) You know what? The stupid thing didn't fit on her tiny, greedy gold-digging hand despite being refitted THREE TIMES. He then got pressured to get her THE MATCHING EARRINGS for their first anniversary. Meanwhile he was bringing boxed lunches to work for the five years I worked with him. She was such a plain, whiny little thing too... I didn't get it, so I asked him bluntly one time if she was particularly good to him. He shrugged and popped open the sad bologna sandwich he'd brought to lunch and stared at pics of his dream car. They're divorced now... She kept the ring. He still stares at his dream car longingly.

Another guy friend (older, very well off but stubborn af) proposed and got a similarly ridiculous set for his gal. Traveled around the world with her, got her on fertility treatments so they could start making babies the second they got married (bc she's older too) and a week before the wedding she ditches him because he's suffocating her with his groomzilla demands. He's now stuck with something that costs the same as the deposit on a fucking condo.

Meanwhile my grandad proposed with a very modest bracelet bc he was the head of household for a family of 6 (eldest son caring for his mom and sibs after his dad passed) and he simply told her that he knows this wasn't what she deserved but he promised to treat her like a queen for the rest of her life and get her enough rings and gems throughout their marriage to last generations. You know? That guy stuck by his word. 55 years married and held her hand every day. The only thing on her finger was the simple band and a ring with a holy relic on it.

Bottom line? Use the head above your neck when picking a ring. Don't give in to EVERY whim and fancy or eye-catching trend. You love the girl, we got it. But remember you probably want to buy a house and make babies. Leave the money in the bank and go for matching simple bands. You should impress people with your hearts, not your wallets.

Personally if I took mine off at work (and I work with about of guys) it would confuse the guys. Don’t confuse the guys.

Women I know who do that with kind intentions of not washing dishes with their rings on (for example) have had their rings fall into the sink or trash compactor or the dog swallows it or whatever.

Either she loves you or she doesn’t. It’s not about the size of the ring.

Just kidding 😁 Well, I won't get married but if I would have... I would have been happy with whatever he gets for me. If he ask me, I would say I prefer gold ring rather than platinum. Small or medium size stone rather than big stone as it would look odd on my slim finger if I wear a huge one, lol. So, the band that isn't very big either but rather have a delicate design. Gold with diamond looks lovely but I like few stones too. So, I'm quite flexible when it comes to stones. 😂

I've seen so many people's marriage ending in divorces or people cheating on each other or living together but miserable together. I've seen marriages break in my family too. I've had bad experiences in relationships.. So, it made me kind of terrified and believe if I get married, I'll be stuck with someone forever. That thought enough makes me never want to date and marry. Frankly, I'm happy being single. ☺️

Well that's what the difference is I guess, you let people's failures in relationships effect your hopes in it, along with your own failed relationships, I think the moment people propose to each other, it should be such a strong connection that thinking of divorces or anything else shouldn't even be in the picture, people should marry with the mentality it will last til death does them apart, but if you are happy single then that's good, hopefully that happiness lasts til the end.

I think I can be single perfectly fine as well but I wonder if that's the best choice for me or not, the more my family expands, the more generations of my bloodline lol

My actual wedding ring is just a very simple plain band of gold... The same as my husband's although obviously smaller... I would have to try and find the receipt for the actual cost, but tend to think it was around £750 (UK Stirling)... That was of course back in 2018!

That's where the magic of customizes come in, you can request them I think, if you aren't too much on the rock popping out you can add a design like a dragon around the rock to make the rock less popping out and looks better and more sophisticated or add small ones to spell out your name or something
