Guys is this realistic?

So I was writing my therapist and client story where they fall for each other although he's engaged to be married soon and I am at the part where he's at his bachelor party at a bar and gets completely wasted. He ends up finding his client's address with the intake papers and goes to her house (using uber) where they end up making out and sleeping together.

My guy friend said that his groomsmen wouldn't let him do this. That they would make sure he made it home and not go wandering.

But I made it so that he does make it home but doesn't go inside. Also, his fiancée had her bachelorette party the same night if that helps so she's not home when he arrives.

Sorry, in a professional stance, the intake papers is unrealistic… especially if this is an ongoing therapist and client relationship for a while VS. they just met. If there is already an ongoing therapy treatment, the therapist wouldn’t even need the address from an Intake… it’s already in the client’s chart. But if it’s a new client, it makes more sense to use the Intake information. Though those information is confidential and will remain in the workplace. Unless the therapist “accidentally” somehow took it home lol.

Well, your friend has a point that most groomsmen wouldn’t allow their incredibly, visibly plastered friend wander off to a random address without some company. I guess it depends on whether or not the therapist has shitty friends who don’t actually like or care about him more than they care about partying. Most romance novels allow for some suspension of disbelief so you can really just write whatever and most people into the same genre will devour it happily.

Usually, the groom to be has his transportation arranged, so he doesn't drive drunk. But, being fiction, you could deviate a bit from reality.
