Wanting to get married and being ready for marriage are two completely different things. Some people desire the wedding, the beautiful pictures, the companionship, and the title of husband or wife, but they haven't developed the emotional maturity required to sustain a healthy marriage. 💍❤️
Marriage is more than love. It requires patience, understanding, communication, compromise, forgiveness, and accountability. It's about learning how to disagree without disrespecting each other, apologizing when you're wrong, and choosing to work through challenges rather than giving up whenever things become difficult.
Some people enter marriage carrying unresolved trauma, insecurities, anger, jealousy, and trust issues. Others struggle to communicate their feelings, accept correction, or take responsibility for their actions. Yet, they genuinely desire marriage. 🥹
The truth is, you can desire the blessings of marriage while still being unprepared for its responsibilities.
Being emotionally ready doesn't mean you're perfect or that you have everything figured out. It means you're willing to learn, grow, communicate honestly, and take responsibility for your actions. It means understanding that your partner is human, will make mistakes, and won't always see things the way you do.
I also believe marriage shouldn't be treated as a solution to loneliness or personal struggles. Your partner can support you, love you, and encourage you, but they cannot do all your healing for you. You must be willing to work on yourself, too. ❤️
And let's be honest, a beautiful wedding doesn't guarantee a beautiful marriage. What happens after the celebration matters far more than the wedding day itself. 🥰
Marriage isn't just about finding the right person. It's also about becoming someone who is ready to love, respect, and build a life with another person. 💯❤️
Not everyone who wants to get married is emotionally ready for marriage. Agree or disagree?
You are 100% right you have to have it figured out before you even step into it if you are not best friends if you cannot communicate if you cannot laugh at each other or with each other and you have no business being married yet
Being married is not perfect and no matter what it's not going to be perfect and you have to accept that and you have to be able to look at each other and say this is one of those moments let's fix it it doesn't have to be a big deal doesn't have to have drama it just needs to be dealt with in the correct way the polite way the Civil way the fastest way and the best way and that's with each other bouncing ideas off of each other making a plan and following through you're in it together no matter what you cannot point the finger in another person you cannot blame you just fix it and hopefully in the middle of the doing all this there are moments where you can laugh with each other after the plans made you hold each other love each other tell each other and smile with each other
I got married when I was 25 and after the honeymoon it was apparent that i had no clue how to have a real relationship with somebody. I came from a very dysfunctional family and the long relationship had before I met my wife was with somebody who lived halfway across the country. I never really had to be accountable to another person. It was a big adjustment for somebody who was used to doing whatever he wanted to and going wherever he felt like going.
not even for a relationship... so nevermind marriage, lol
it does happen
but also... there's been cases in which they still make it, eventually... just because you're not YET ready for something, that will not meant you won't be able to make it there
Everyone who wants to get married should get married. In particular, most men should not get married because they do not understand the legal implications of doing so until those implications bite them in the ass later on.

I think a lot of women don't understand that most men are never really "ready for marriage". They are ready for a family and marriage is the compromise they make to aquire that family.

Agree. MANY MANY people LOOOOVE the IDEA of marriage but are not ready for marriage for whatever reason.

I think couples need to grow together from the immaturity of youth to older age.

Emotions have nothing to do with it. Just get ready to have sex and tolerance are enough to get married.
Absolutely agree
