Sophomore Going To A Junior/Senior Prom?

So I'm a sophomore and a Junior asked me to his prom.
I said yes because I have really like this guy for a while.
But I'm also very nervous because I go to a different school, so I won't really know anyone.

I'm also not sure, what kind of dress do I get? Would it be inappropriate for me to wear a long dress since I'm a sophomore? Would it be inappropriate to wear a short dress because it's a formal prom? Does it matter?

I mean, I would ask him, but I'm honestly kind of embarrased to outright ask him (it's just how I am, I'm a very shy, easily embarrassed/flustered person.. so...) Like what if I asked him and like he thought it was a dumb question or that I know nothing about this kind of thing and it makes me seem immature?

Awe that is awesome that you got asked out to his prom but I definitely know how you feel I just went to my boyfriends prom in a completely different state. It was very nerve racking and I went through the same thing I didn't know what to wear or anything. I don't think it matters what kind of dress you wear as long as you like the way you look in it, its not going to be inappropriate if its long or short. Nevertheless, congratulations and I hope everything goes well!!! I know you will look absolutely gorgeous no matter what you wear.

Haha, he won't think it's a dumb question! He asked you to go to prom which is pretty special! If you talk to him about that stuff it'll make you two a little more comfortable with each other, I guarantee it.

You can wear whatever you want, nobody there will automatically know you're a sophomore (or care). And it doesn't matter if you don't know amyone. If he's a decent guy he'll introduce you to people, OR he'll just focus on you the entire time.
