Why do shop staff always ask me if I need help with anything but don’t ask the other shoppers around me as much?

I’ve noticed this happen to me a lot when I’m browsing through makeup, skin care, clothes etc. I get asked by shop staff if I want help, I tell them I don’t, then I watch them not even ask the person next to me if they need help.

It was actually a bit annoying today when I went to a big department store, just browsing all the different beauty brands and kept getting approached by staff from the various make up counters, asking me if I need help (obviously they didn’t realise I’d already been asked by other staff and I had already said no). Then I noticed a lot of them watching me as I browsed.. clearly they were bored with no work to do but I did notice them paying more attention to me than other shoppers.

Why do I always get more attention from shop staff than others? Is there a particular type of shopper they like to approach more than others? I don’t get it.
