Why do people look down on me just because I do this business?

I work as a receptionist in the tourism and vacation hotels.

Even though I know 3 languages, I am good at computers and hotel programs, I am good looking and got a college degree.

But some clients and bosses always mocks me or makes me feel down and looks down on me or other receptionists like we are slaves.

Yes, I was a receptionist at different times in my life. I enjoyed doing it and you do need a certain flare about you to be a good one. Unfortunately you get paid crappy. They don't value your worth.
My advice is to go to a trade school and learn a vocation that will pay more.
What really got to me us I was 17 when I got me first job as a receptionist, which was cool at the time. Then through the years I became an administrative secretary for an environmental engineering company company for several years, and I really learned a lot.
Unfortunately I was laid off after 7 years.
My last job I took because I was desperate for money and it was being a receptionist in my late 40's. Money talks.
Try your best to get away from the receptionist work. You'll be old some day and you don't want to get in a rut like I always did.

Well, that's the harsh reality that we still live in this whole world. There are still people who will look down on you especially in your job but there are still some people like me who will appreciate your efforts and I know being a receptionist is not also an easy task since you will test both of your patience when handling different types of clients everyday.

Peoples are different, we can't expect other people to be kind and humble just like how you expect it. Just focus on what u make there and not the people. Its quite ignorant tho looking down on people just because of their work, because anyone who earns their money through hardwork n decent way then they deserve all the respect

all customers and bosses treat employees like that. this is nothing new and nothing unique to your situation.
