Should I invite my ex-boyfriend to my birthday party?

My boyfriend broke up with me in April, and it is now June. His reason was because he "needed time" and "can't have a girlfriend" he also said he'll always love me. Recently he's been speaking to me everyday sending me texts that say he wants to be my friend, and he misses me.. I'm not answering him though. In July I'm having a party for my birthday, and I don't know If I should invite him or not.. what do you guys think ? how about the texts?!

well it all depends why he really broke up with you? you said he 'needed time', but in my opinion,most guys are simple. and most guys don't need time or space or any of those things, believe me..unless he was trying to change his ways or try different things in his life and he wants to have no disctractions...but the strange thing about all this is that he still wants to be friends and he tells you he misses you and he keeps texting u..either he really wants you back to he just wants you in his life as well. you know, have it all..here is my answer or actually my questions to u...what do you want to do? what do you want from all this? if you still have feelings for him then invite him and if you don't then, you can still invite him but don't lead him on in any way. just be friends. that's it. don't make any illusions for yourself...if you dnt like him lke that then,u can move on and be friends, it does happen. but if you really like him still, wait till he makes a real move, or if you can't wait..u can also jst be bold and ask him..what do you want from me ? why are you still texting me these things. make up your mind,u know stuff like that. you might have to push him to get an answer,but it all depends on what you really want. good luck.

Thanks so much, your right.. I just hate all these mixed signals.. I guess I won't invite him, I'm ignoring him as it is... it hurts to know that he would be okay being my friend... because I know it would kill me just being friends with him.. /:

Because he hurt me? And a stupid text message won't make up for how hurt I was. He even tried getting with my friend, he used me, and there have been times where I saw him and he wouldn't even say hi, to me, that's not friendship.. I can't give in to him, and give him eveything he wants. I'm not settling for less than what I want...cause what I want is for him to be my bf.

this sounds bipolar (not saying you are) but its like "i was really hurt and he was a total douche" then "im not stopping till he is mine" wtf? did he really really do f***ed up stufff or not? but I don't think him breaking it off with is grounds to be pissed at him, it sounds like he did it as respectfully as he could...

if you want to invite him to your party as a friend, that's fine, but I wouldn't expect him to be a boyfriend because he's already shown himself to be a little iffy with commitment. if you're OK with him as a friend, fine, but don't expect anything else from him.

Maybe he can have a girlfriend now..but either way you should get more out of him than just those texts, tell him to meet you in person and then you can figure out the signals by reading his body language, etc. Maybe you can become friends again?
