Generally no, I will buy the cheapest thing, but then I don't make much money yet and don't feel I've earned enough to choose. Even if I had more money, it seems wasteful both of my own money and of economic resources to not buy the cheapest unless there's good reason not to.
But even with my current means I have exceptions and loyalties, for example I don't like funding genocide, so I make some efforts to potentially spend more to avoid places like China. Or if a company has impressed/disappointed me, I'll favour/avoid them even if they're more/less expensive.
The nationalistic label isn't worth a huge amount to me, but I'll slightly prefer it. I don't mind trading with the typical foreign country, but my country suffers from a lack of real utility that could be a critical weakness if left unchecked. So if only for self-preservation I think it can be worth a little extra to buy local.
I came from a Proud Union family. Everyone one in my family was in some labor union of some sort. I was in USW (United Steel Workers of America) and now I am in the Farmers Union.
So that being said when ever we could we would only buy union made or USA made only goods.

I believe all lives are equal and an American life or a Canadian life has the same value as an Indian life or a Chinese life so I see no reason to favour national businesses over far away ones but I will buy an overpriced local product if I have an emotional connection to the person selling, like if they were old and lonely or very poor.
If the same item is found, the cheaper one usually has a defect. It’s like at Walmart you see the same clothing as Kohls or Macy’s at times. The one at Walmart, if you look closely, that material won’t line up or something making it’s value decrease. I’ve caught this three times so far.
Depends. Is the quality really any better? MADE IN USA used to mean something, now though it usually means $20 more for the same crappy junk you get from overseas with a fancy feel good sticker / logo on on a product that wasn't really made in the USA, just "assembled" in the USA. I don't care about Logos or "name brands" but I respect brands like Klein Tools, Carhart clothing is good and there are a few others but overall I find that the Asian products are just as good a price / quality value for most stuff.
a lot depends on the actual supply chain on the bits that make up the product.
A lot and I mean a lot, of companies will ship parts from China and other cheap areas to UK (and US). They will then assemble them and sell as made in UK (US).
A lot has to do with costs of tooling and initial design - prototyping work.
People can end up paying extra cash for a product Assembled in their own country but it’s the same as another assembled in say China or Taiwan etc.
$20 difference for a car is far different than $20 difference for a gumball. Obviously the specific purchase matters. That said, I tend to try to buy products that are American made if possible assuming the quality is there. If they are from a company or individual that lives in Florida, that’s even better. That said, there is no reason why American manufactures can’t exploit robotics and maintain American manufacturing plants and still reduce labor costs. Having a couple high quality manufacturing jobs that utilize robotics/automation/clean industry in America is much better than creating thousands of low quality manufacturing jobs in China while spewing pollution into the air and ocean to get the same price point for an inferior sweatshop product with defects for a cheap price.
See these are good American jobs created in the South... A Manufacturing Engineer, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Software Project Manager, etc. here in my region are far better than a shit ton of Bengal women on the other side of the globe. It also creates more local demand for local farmers to produce cotton and local truckers to move loads at the same price point...
Often American made products actually cost the same or less than products made over seas because of fuel prices to ship those products here.
I seriously wish they would make Levi's here again because when ordering them they are made in various countries that somehow all have different measurement methods. I have had them come from Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and I forget where else. the ones from Malaysia were the only ones that were measured correctly, but there is no way of knowing where each batch comes from when ordering them online.
I do pay more for Redwing boots that are made in the USA because every other brand I have tried all fell apart with light use. I pay $200 for Redwing steel toe boots and they usually last 5 years of daily use, including playing sports in them. (soccer, basketball, kickball).
I usually buy American made guns and ammunition too because of quality and reliability. Those are worth more and they can last a lifetime.
Yes , I do this all the time. I looked at a utility trailer that was made in USA out of USA made aluminum. The only part made in china was the tires/ It was more expensive but it looked like it was better made then the cheap one they sell at Home Depot.
Yes. It certainly does matter. It depends on what product you're buying and your purpose of buying, though. It related that material quality and processing tradition of the countries. China provides cheap workpower, cheap material and sloppy proceed items. If you buy storage organizers , go for it. If you wanna purchase a pair of goodwelted boots made in America or England ones would be much more durable and comfortable. If you buy linen or wool you should go for Irish Linen or Norwegein Wool.
I like to support local businesses and search for locally-manufactured merchandise. The local mom & pop stores that I repeatedly shop in always tell me how grateful they are to me for my attitude.
Depends on the product, for example, for cars, I wouldn't recommend just some cheaper knock off of a oem parts, it should always be from stock parts or higher quality parts cause cheap parts can end up causing more problems, so long story short, it depends, if whatever you are buying requires quality for proper function then it's important to aim for quality
Nope as it's usually American made crap and the extra 20 dollars is just so American snowflakes do not feel "undervalued" when in fact they offer no value.

How much is it total? I will pay a premium for US made, for several reasons. But there is a limit. The difference between $2 and $22 is a lot bigger than the difference between $200 and $220. I would say my maximum premium is around 35%.
Sometimes yes... probably not all the time though. I am offended at companies in the USA... companies founded here, laying off their own citizens and fellow countrymen to hire someone on the other side of the planet.
Yes I would pay extra. Hard to say by what amount, without knowing the product etc. There would be a limit of course. I pay almost double for organic milk. The benefits are just better.
If you live by me, I would sell you milk straight from the cow at regular normal price. My cows are organically raised, and I don't go ripping people off. My milk buyer don't pay me extra if its organic or not.

always support your country. I would always purchase a North American made product over an over seas product regardless of cost as long as the product was equal or better quality
I try to buy American. Just like trying to use a human cashier instead of self checkout. After NAFTA, it is almost impossible to find things totally manufactured in America. Just look at the chip shortage and car manufacturing!
When you buy Made In America It gets to stores faster, and best of all no waiting But, like"Foreign Mart"stuff will take longer to get on the shelves So, let me think Made In America
I prefer not to buy shit made in China because, usually, it IS shit!!

Fuck no. i buy a lot of products over seas and saved a ton of money doing so. two years ago i bought a bluetooth keyboard for 15 dollars. the exact same bluetooth keyboard with the company logo that was being sold in a nationwide kiosk would of costed 68 dollars. also a few months ago i bought a coat from overseas paid 58 dollars for the exact same one amazon was selling for 158 dollars
I don't care where products are made as long as it isn't China. I even have a plugin on chrome that tells me if a product is from China or not for Amazon. Its called Cultivate. I don't want my money paying for China's military.
It will happen some time Bc China will probably go to war and trade would be cancelled and our economy will boom Bc everything will be made here which creates jobs and less homeless problems and China will suffer
In some occasions buying local I prefer but must admit I don't always. Local can be pretty bad as well looking at how environmentally badly produced locally
Depends on which sea... If it's made in Germany it probably kicks "made in USA"'s ass, possibly by a mile or three. If it's made in China, probably not so much...
I dont give a fuck where its made. The business selling it is often in the us anyway. Theyre profiting more than the chinese are, thats why they outsource it.
