I agree it is a waste if money if you’re buying it for yourself but I also think it’s a good way for people to give gifts to those who do collect them.

Eh… I don’t personally collect them - but there are things I love to collect that would probably have no real value if I shuffled off the mortal coil.


My parents bought so much junk thinking it would be a real nest egg - most of it being just about worthless. And most people having absolutely no interest in buying it, we’re forced to go through all kinds of stuff, list, and try to sell it. Or just trash something they could only look at, couldn’t play with, that costed hundreds back then. Great if you love looking at it, or love using it, or it has some true sentimental value… but otherwise, most of that stuff isn’t going to be worth anything, unless you know what you’re doing.

I used to have a few of them until my daughter got a hold of them and broke them + drew all over them lol
I don’t think any collections are a waste of money, collections are cool and it makes people happy

However I spent (lol you might say waste) my money on dog figurines. I have almost 500, so decided maybe I would stop, but then I see a cute one that I think I need. I blame this want on SPCA, I just love dogs.

John Wick in his black suit and black dog
& just recently for my birthday got Deadpool
I think they look cool and worth collecting

I collect Disney stuff for a hobby and have quite a few Disney ones. It's fun and a way to add to my home decor with what I enjoy.
My Mr. Toad Funko Pop is one of my favorite things
