What is your worst experience with a delivery (lost, wrong address, etc.)?

This is NOT an April Fool's prank.

Mine is happening right now. Rather than buy a casket from me, a family ordered a casket direct online for delivery to the funeral home (some people choose to do this). Amazon swears the casket was delivered at 9:07 this morning, but it is not here.
In my phone calls to find it, Amazon swears it was delivered and said it might have been placed between doors or in a mailbox. I told them no way possible.
It's a casket. It's bigger than a breadbox: 83" long, 28" wide, weighing 194 pounds. Believe me, it is not in the mailbox or between doors. The lady on the phone had the audacity to ask "are you sure?"
Welcome to my nightmare. Has anyone had a horrific delivery experience?
Amazon in this area misdelivers frequently, but this one takes the prize.

I have no idea what category to stick this in, but I chose "shopping and gifts."

UPDATE: It has been located, retrieved, and is now here where it is supposed to be.

I had bought a dishwasher from an electronics store last year. And it was to be delivered and installed.

Several times they texted me that I either wasn't home (which I certainly was) or that it had disappeared from the inventory.

On a 4th attempt, it finally arrived and by then, the delivery guy said he didn't have any orders to install it. So I had to call them /again/ and somehow through all the calls and redates for the delivery, the installation of it had been canceled.

In the end, I just told them I would come to the store to get a refund and my dad would install it himself - as they were visiting that weekend.

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed by it as well... I'm usually not the kind of person who gets mad at those who work behind a counter or workers in general and I let things happen. But here I was mad, why I insisted on going to the store and getting some of the money back.

I can forgive the occasional mistake, but having to go through 4 tries and still not getting it done would put my patience past its limits.

I love my (and neighbors) security cameras. Protects against all manner of sins. Just ask them the date and time and I can prove it was thrown, miss-delivered or no show at all. I’ve used them maybe 20 times for screwed up deliveries alone.

We have security cameras covering all the entrances, and I definitely rolled through the videos and checked to see if a delivery vehicle had even been on the premises. Other than a couple of floral deliveries, there were no other delivery vehicles on the property. We had an incident where a family ordered a casket from Amazon and the delivery drivers damaged it when they pushed it off the truck and let it slam onto the pavement, then drove off. I had it on video and sent it to Amazon. They make airline baggage handlers look loving and gentle.

For some reason it’s very hard for delivery drivers to find my address. They almost always drop my packages off at the wrong house so I gotta go on a walk and look around the neighborhood for my package lol
And then I feel so weird grabbing it from someone else’s porch but what am I gonna do?

Also I ordered a couple cds that were autographed by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber but they got lost in shipping. Couldn’t get a refund for them either. Apparently a lot of the signatures were fake anyways

If anything, we get Amazon and USPS deliveries intended for someone else dropped off at our door. As a courtesy, we run a "Fix Amazon and USPS Delivery Fuckup" service.

The biggest issue I get is my house is is a name and not a number, now this isn't a problem for the regular drivers, but when there's a temporary one on or a new driver it messes with their head.

It's been found. It had been delivered (kicked out of a truck and left, to be more precise) at the back entrance of an office building. Several miles away. In a different zip code.

Walmart has this dumb, "local delivery" service that they do and sent my $200+ through one of them instead of Fed Ex, USPS, or UPS for whatever reason. The chick delivering my computer showed up super late at night and she went right past my house and went to the one next door. My mom signaled and called her phone several times, and she blatantly ignored my mom. Then the computer gets scanned as "delivered" and she takes a picture, but it looks like it was taken in the back of her car and she just drives off really fast. So I believe she never actually delivered the computer and just kept it for herself. Never again did we do Walmart delivery.

Oh I can imagine. Seems to me like things turned to shit when Walmart, Amazon, and a couple others started their own delivery "service." When they used FedEx, UPS, or USPS I don't recall ever having issues like we have now.

@Still-alive. I always tip food and grocery delivery drivers, but not freight, floral, and delivery service drivers like Amazon, UPS, USPS, and FedEx.

I was one once. I have friends that do doordash, and it's still the same. Make $3 to drive to the store, get delivery, drive miles to house and no tip. Asshats
