Does anyone else hate being left on delivered?

I absolutely positively hate it. My boyfriend apparently finds a game more important than me. We are long distance so we don't get to see each other often and he hasn't been able to talk to me all day long due to hanging with his family and now that he's home, he could at least return my messages. Ugh. This is so frustrating.

The last thing he texted me was that he was playing a game with his friends. It seems like he puts his friends before me on Saturdays which is so fucking frustrating.

He doesn't understand how lonely I feel because all my friends are either dead or busy working.

Honestly? I don't care.

I have an android phone so (thankfully) I don't know or am aware when someone reads my message- I'm quite content that way too. If anything, I get annoyed by iphone users when I open their messages and don't respond right away, only for them to message me AGAIN- no, that's an instant ignore and just irks me more.

But I'm also a bit of an introvert and hate feeling obligated to jump at a moment's whim to read and reply to someone's message, especially if it's not urgent. People are busy and have lives: they don't always have the time or energy to reply right away- and that's okay. With that being said, back to you-

I know you're in a long distance relationship and want to talk to your guy. But let the guy live his life! You can't expect him to be at your beck and call 24/7: he should be able to game and hang out with his friends and family if he wants to.

I know you said you don't have any friends you can spend time with- hence why you're getting even angier at him; you're lonely so you expect him to be there for you all the time. It doesn't work that way.

If it's a reoccurring problem, tell him how you feel! Set specific time each day for phone calls and/or texting so you can chat with him, while still giving him his space and time with his friends.

i'd rather be left on delivered than on read. maybe it's just me. but in this case, your feelings are valid.

have you talked about this issue you have and how it makes you feel? if he does nothing to change it, then he likely doesn't care about you or the relationship. so i'd suggest start thinking about moving on if this continues.

There was a time when we just fired messages off into the void and had no idea of their status. Seems that would cause people less "anxiety." I don't know what the status of my messages are and honestly couldn't care less if I actively tried. Text messages are all about "respond when you get around to it." If it was important, call. It doesn't sound important it just sounds like you are needy because you don't have any friends. That's not his job to fix, and you're 31 years old... time to move past that stage of your life.

I mean, he does have a life other than you. You can't expect somone to drop everything that they are doing simply because you texted them or want attention. Just do what he’s doing and go out with friends, watch a movie, play your OWN video game. As a matter of fact, if you have the proper console and equipment, ask to join the game as well if it can be played long distance. If you truly want to just be hanging out with him, it doesn’t matter how. If this is a reoccurring thing tho and he never pays attention to what you want or expresses wanting to see you, maintaining a long distance relationship with someone who you know you will never want to marry some day is stupid and basically just putting the “im taken” label on yourself without actually being taken. Look at your reasoning for why you date this guy, and if you realize that there isn’t much reasoning other than the label of having a boyfriend, dump him. It’s as easy as that.

I'm going to sound crass but after you reconsider what I suggest, if you are honest with yourself, you will recognize it as sound advice...
Take all of that pent up frustration, confusion, hurt, and lack of satisfaction into every thought you think and movement you make next time you two are fucking each other, release it all, uninhibited, into the most passion-filled, boundary pushing and vulnerable sharing of your body that he has experienced. And all that your complaining about as issues will no longer exist. Hopefully it goes without saying... but, once you have sex like that keep it up... You will be shocked how far consistently good and satisfying sex can carry a relationship

Or your friends take you up to snow ski the first time and they take you to the highest peak and they say we'll see you at lunch time and they leave you right there

I find it annoying but I choose to turn over blue ticks to avoid this. Hey it's someone's convenience when they are going to write back. It's not a compulsion. So don't get clingy
