Tough & interesting question. I dislike label showing off unless it's for a brand that has consistently sold high quality stuff, e. g. La Perla for women's lingerie. I also believe that if you need the validation that a label offers, in clothes, watches, cars a lot of expensive items are in and of themselves ridiculous but there are some labels that seem worth the $ and if they can show that in a subtle, classy way; no problem. Some designer stuff seems insane to me, Oversized Rolex watches and horrendously loud Gucci purses is another. Of course it's only my opinion so...

I have mixed views on it.

On one hand, I do believe there are different levels of quality when it comes to it, like you mentioned.

The biggest problem with it, is that if you or anyone else has the genuine item, then a lot of people will assume it's fake, as a lot fakes do look convincing and not everyone can tell just like that.

A few years ago, I went on holiday and there were a ton of shops selling knock-offs and I like shopping, so I bought a few things.

I think people should stop stealing intellectual property, good design, etc. It's really unethical. Get your own ideas.

So I don't buy knockoffs that are clearly that. Sometimes the design is so good, goes on for so many years, the original source is completely lost, forgotten. But when the item is logo'd, and fake, nope, I'd never buy it. I'm anti-logo, typically.

Even if I can afford it, I’d rather buy a vacation than spend on designer purse that will sit on my closet coz I’d be scared to get it stained with my clumsy ass if I take it out somewhere and eat a fry and accidentally drop on it 😭 and what to impress who? Nah. Not for me

Since I don't really care about paying extra for a brand mark on a product which only makes the product and ad. I don't mind them at all aslong as they don't claim to be a product from another company. That fraud and I don't like that. Make a cheap product that is as good as the designer brand and you got something of value.

WHO CARES? I go for function, not fashion!! You don't lie my knock off, TOUGH SHIT!! It does what I bought it to do and that's all I care about!! WHY would ANYBODY with a brain pay hundreds of dollars for something just because it has someone's name attached to it? Who am I REALLY trying to impress and why?

I thought the whole point of buying designer clothes was because of the quality. If you're just purchasing something because it looks designer, I don't see the point of it. Like I've been driving Mercedes for years. If you put me in a Toyota with a Mercedes symbol on it, I would know instantly that it was a Toyota.

I would rather “look good and feel good in the clothes I’m in” vs feel gross and unhealthy but be wearing $100 outfits or w/e majorly speaking.. If you must wear a flaved out hat then the rest all “Walmart” no shame in saving, only shame in over spending and not supporting family/friends/countrymen.

You know it’s fake, but if u wear and people think it’s real, hey way not. Then again stuff isn’t made hygenically nor environmentally friendly. And supposedly the knock offs fund terrorist/criminal activity and it’s infringement of company patents/trademarks.

It's not even about the quality at that point, it's more about the brand, you don't buy designer for the quality, you buy it for the brand, all designer is good quality and buying a knock off good quality isn't the same lol

I'm not impressed by designer names. In fact, I'm often turned off by the idea. All I care about is whether or not something looks good.

Well there is something more dumb than going for designer stuff in the first place like it means something and that is going for knock-off designer stuff just to pretend like it's the real stuff.

I actually like those. Got a few of them in my possession. While they may be produced in China ( and what is not being produced in China? ) they pretty much fulfill my expectations, so i see no reason to bankrupt myself or getting ripped off. Chances are those entrepreneurs are laughing at us squandering so much money for their products. I dont blame them. From the entrepreneur's point of view i understand why they do what they do. Some people do have so much money to get rid off.

I think knock-offs should take over. People who spend extra to wear a brand that pays other people to wear the brand are about as dumb as a consumer can possibly get.

I just don't see the point.

Why get a bag pretending to be a different bag 😅

Just get the non-designer bag instead of claiming it's something else.

I don't mind the ones that are inspired by the original bag eg a Zara bag that's very similar to a Hermes bag. I'm not a fan of the copies that are sold in certain places with names like Doris&Giovanni, Channel etc.

Designer brands are expensive for the prestigious name. If you like the bag, who cares if it's a knock off or not. Just don't claim that it's real..

If my pocket allows i would buy the orginal thing and if it doesn't then i would by local brand or non-branded thing which is in my budget.

But i would never by a fake bag or clothing etc of a high priced brand

You mean fashion reps? I like some, you can get high-quality clothes with nice designs for a cheaper price and better labour standards. A lot of people prefer to go for a look and quality of something, so it's not always about a brand.
