Yeah, I remember them. People used to bring 15-20 items to those lines and abuse it. Stores eventually turned those into self-checkouts.

However, I DID go to a store yesterday that had self-checkout areas AND they had 4 self checkout spots listed for 5 items or less, card payment ONLY. Believe me, it was difficult to deal with, just for the 2 items I had. But I think that might work at that store.

It's called "service desk" instead.

They will usually sell tobacco, lottery, vape, etc, and if you have 10 items or less will put that through as well.

Yeaah... good times tho. Now a days, we got automatic check outs... and I hate those. :) I don't know why but i guess because I'd rather have someone do it for me. Because I ain't as fast as them

Yes, I got behind one of these jerseys and while he was taking out all his stuff out of the cart I loudly commented to the girl at the register that it looks like somebody doesn't know how to count. This guy just ignored me and then I thought if I followed this guy out to the parking lot I would probably wind up in jail.
