I personally think Ebay is better becasue its good for sellers and buyers. Amazon charges you $40 a month to sell items and takes 15% of your purse you sell. Where as Ebay doesn charge you at all but only takes about 15% your purse as well at max. And on Ebay you can bid where as Amazon you can't.
Ebay. Amazon has gotten way too big and is too much of a monopoly. I don't like supporting them.
I also tend to find better deals on Ebay. Ebay and Amazon actually have many of the same sellers, with the same price, same shipping cost, etc. However Ebay has a lot more small sellers, which is what it was originally meant for. A lot of times I can find a better deal from the small sellers, and I'd much rather support them. Once I buy from a small sellers I keep checking back to see if they have anything I want. There are several small sellers that I've bought from 2-3 times.
At one time Ebay had a monopoly and Amazon was little - back when Amazon was only a book store. But Ebay shot itself in the foot with it's pricing. They charged just to list things, then charged again to relist if it didn't sell in a few weeks. Amazon entered the picture and had free listings - you only paid when it sold. They totally stole the market from Ebay.
Now Ebay has changed it's pricing policy, but they already lost so much of the market. Ebay was so dominant that it took them too long to wake up and realize they actually had competition.

For buying, Amazon. Here's why:
On Amazon I get free returns even if it's my error. If something gets lost they will credit it or reship, no issue. They even take photos when they deliver, so it is super easy to show if a delivery to the wrong place happens.
On eBay I would often have to go to my credit card company if a seller screwed me over because eBay and PayPal were usually useless if it showed delivered. Wrong or damaged item received? Deal with seller. If not solved in x number of days, then you can ask us to step in. When they do, you have a great chance of getting screwed over. I had to go to my credit card company for a mandolin that came with a broken neck because seller refused return and eBay in essence said, "Tough sh*t" Same with a laptop that was older, slower, had less RAM, and had a mechanical 500 GB HD instead of the 1TB SSD advertised. I gave up on eBay because of BS like this.
there is a reason why ebay can't succeed.
there was once i was selling a product on ebay. I listed "no returns". After I made the sale, the customer received the package and said she wanted to return it. I reminded her that I had a no return policy. She ended up contacting ebay customer service then received a full refund. She didn't even need to ship the item back.
When ebay treats sellers like this, its no wonder why they can't grow their platform. Trust me, ebay has been around long before amazon came along.
What I like about EBay, is the sellers post authentic pictures of items that I am looking for or are discontinued. While the buyers are able to communicate to the sellers about the products through private messages.
Amazon seems a bit sketchy at times. Since most of the items are from Asian manufacturers and buyers cannot communicate with the sellers. That instead they are dealing with a automated customer services.

Amazon, you get free delivery with prime, you can use prime TV with your prime membership, you can also get your items the same day or next day, and if you have an issue you can get in touch with customer services and get a refund straight away,
EBay are full of con artists and you can’t get a refund you get empty boxes or bricks I’ve seen it all on YouTube and from a friend who ordered stuff off them and never got it and couldn’t get a refund without a fight. I’d never use EBay.
I’m with Amazon all the way.Ebay. Ebay is just a selling and auctioning site as far as I know. Its up to the individual seller how well they pack your stuff. Only downside with Ebay is, they have a maximum there is possible for people outside of US to pay for an order shipped with their global shipping program.
Amazon on the other hand is absolute crap. They pack most of your stuff in basically paper bags (wtf) stopped using Amazon in 2021, every movie I bought there arrived damaged, and now even Amazon Japan has become worse too.
In general? Day to day? Amazon. Web site is better. Search is better. More regular products at WAY better prices and the shipping with prime is amazing. I love the odd items I can get on eBay but the whole auction thing is useless. The shipping costs are a joke. I do use eBay for unique toys or models or Lego parts but I'd never get my coffee or cat food or batteries there.
I don't remember making any purchase on eBay other than some personal counselling sessions through life coaches. I use Amazon all the time. I earn a $20 Amazon gift card every 20 - 40 days on average and I think you need to spend over $400 to qualify for one.
It USED to be Ebay, because you could use it without a late-night visitation from the ghost of Samuel Gompers, who'd chase you around with a broadsword for undermining what he worked so hard to achieve.
Now, the two companies have almost become one; a lot of Ebay sellers just buy stuff off Amazon and resell it.
I buy from both. Amazon does have the yearly charge but they also have good streaming content.
eBay is more for used stuff. And I buy a lot of used camera lenses. Also, Amazon never questions your returns. I think it’s mafia protocol. “Forget about it.”As a seller or buyer/consumer?
I like both for different things.
Sounds like someone hasn’t been fucked over by fake ebay products yet.
Just wait until you drop $500, receive an empty box with a dick print on it and can’t get a refund. 🤣
Ebay has no accountability and a long history of fuckery. If I can, I will always start in my workshop to try and make/build/fix what I already have. If I need something that is somewhat unique and hard-to-find, I will start at eBay. If I need more run-of-the-mill supplies, I will usually start at Amazon, though I'm not really happy about it. (We wait until we get enough Amazon items to order to get free S/H. )
speaking from a buyer's POV, ebay is good for cheapness but amazon is good for quality and quick delivery
Ebay isn’t oppressive to thousands of workers so that the unproductive wealthy can continue to get filthier stinking richer.
Amazon by a mile especially if you use Amazon prime.
But Ebay is good for finding and buying second hand stuff and usually you'll find older model stuff and such on there more than AmazonI am a music collector and I find more rarities on Ebay.
I find ebay easier to navigate and find what I'm looking for quicker. It's also a lot cheaper even before postage costs.
It used to be ebay. Now it feels almost as if they combined with amazon. Amazon is hit and miss.
Amazon is good when you want something new or specific but if you only have a general idea then ebay's your friend
I say Amazon even though I don't buy much from them. A lot of the stuff you see in eBay is probably hot.
The Facebook marketplace. It’s free to sell on there.
I like Amazon a lot more. I can find just about anything I want on Amazon.
Amazon for peace of mind, i do buy lot of stuff and sometimes don't wavy to answer et I want to return..
