I only bought her designer for her birthday and because I know she can’t afford a lot of luxury things. I don’t do it often. She’s wearing it often so I guess she likes it but I don't know her comment rubbed me the wrong way

What Girls & Guys Said

It’s not that deep. I honestly say things that apply to my friends on accident. I never mean anything by it. Like what time this old guy asked me if my car got a lot of chicks. I told him only old guys. I did not mean it that way though. I was just telling the truth but didn’t think about this guy being old. I refrain from apologizing though as it often just makes things weirder, as we usually hope people give us the benefit of the doubt.
She probably really thinks people who spend money on designer stuff are dumb. I think the same thing, but it doesn’t mean I think you’re dumb. I know people who make $300 a week, but will spend that $300 right away on one designer item. Then they will eat at their mom’s house.
I think you should take a step back and look at all the things your friend has said. Then you can decide if she really means to be rude to you or if she just has bad timing, or didn’t mean things the way you thought she did. Benefit of the doubt is super important in having healthy relationships though.
She is immature for saying it, you are immature for letting it get to you.
