I have four cars. One is a company lease, two are second hand and one is from new.

I tend to buy a car that does not require a mechanic on retainer. For that reason I never buy American made or anything linked to Ford.

In all my years of driving (I do around 20k UK car miles a year) I have never required anything more than the usual maintenance, which I get done from the dealership.

The secret to a good car is not to buy crap made in the USA, or unreliable "local" cars with high mileage.

I always buy full size American made vehicles. I usually buy a big SUV and now I have a pickup truck. I keep them for 200K miles and sell them myself. This was my fave. An International Scout

I drive alone most of the time. I often tow a trailer. I have a summer house on an island and I am always bringing things over on the car ferry. I use the truck on the beach too.

I leased my truck to own. I was given a dealership employee payment which worked for me. I've owned it for many years now.

I've only bought used cars... and from people I know

I can absolutely trust our mechanics, yes...

I don't really have a dream car... all those I like, are actually affordable, lol
