What impractical, silly thing would you buy for $1000?

Let’s say someone gives you $1000 to spend on the condition that it cannot be spent on anything practical: no groceries, no rent, no mortgage, no investments, no bitcoin. Only on something that is unnecessary to your life. If you break these rules, you have to pay it back.

Me personally, I’d probably just spend it all on a mobile game like candy crush or something.

$1000 is a tough amount. Many unnecessary luxury items either cost a fraction of $1000 or well over $1000.

My next "frivolous" purchase I'd like to make, although well over $1k, is a hot tub. My wife and I had one that completely broke down in 2020 and the economic outlook at that time was very uncertain, especially since both of our jobs involve large assemblies of people. In the years since they've gone up in price, but it seems to be plateauing, especially for used tubs. I really miss that thing, even if it entirely unnecessary to my life.

That’s a good question…. Maybe sunglasses or cologne. Maybe I would buy something I could resell… and use that money for something practical.

I don’t really play any games anymore that I would spend money on. Used to I did. A lot of those games that were on Facebook aren’t there anymore. I also hardly play Xbox.

Just buy some skincare, some skincare are cost a lot. Last month I couldn’t sleep, and scrolled on internet, and ended up spent over than $500 for some skin and body-cares.
