I would but the other 33% that claim they would are lying. We are such a dishonest country that only one person in a hundred is honest. However, if I cannot make a phone call without dealing with a computer or I can't send an email, and some companies make it almost impossible to do either, I will not waste my time. If I can call and speak to a human, they can come by or email me a prepaid mailing label.
I am not obligated to waste my time dealing with their computer phone system or make and attempt to send an email when they make both almost impossible.
For example, UPS delivered a small rug to us the wrong address, I took it to the correct address, but the owner said the person had moved. I attempted call UPS but they don't take phone calls for mis-delivered or return items. None of the computer options allowed me to speak to a person. Nor would chat or email work. I finally took it to a place that accepts FedEx and UPS packages and wrote on the label, "Person has moved, forwarding address unknown." I ended up wasting over two hour of my time. Never again, if return is not easy, then they don't want it because the cost of accepting returns is greater than the cost of items lost.
I do believe Walmart and similar companies will accept a phone call. Even if not, I can return it to Walmart the next time I go to Walmart.
I always do the right thing.
What is your opinion on someone who does't notify? I think not notifying is unethical.
Depends on the value of the item. If it's less than $50 I wouldn't bother. If it is over $50, I would call and see if they wanted it back.
Depends on item. Sometimes it's not worth both your times if it's low cost items.
