What age did you buy your first house and do you regret it?

Bought my first place about a month ago. No regrets so far and enjoying the space

31. Never regretted it. It's a good store of equity. I do regret putting such a large down payment when I purchased my second home when interest rates were so good back in 2021. In hindsight... I should have taken that down payment and invested it in a second property or improvements. Now it's locked up as equity and would have to pay a premium interest rate to access it. But paying yourself vs. paying a landlord... no brainer.

I was 25 and I bought my second house at 29. I am still living there.

You'll never own a home. You're basically renting a home from the government. You'll forever be paying property taxes, home owners insurance and you're responsible for all upkeep. Renting an apartment is cheaper

@carolinagirl5 Yes it is cheaper, however once you are done paying off a mortgage you will have an asset that will most certainly appreciate in value. Everyone who lives in my neighborhood is a millionaire.
