I would love anything that makes my tasks around the house easier or quicker. I cook most of the meals, and our knives were really not great. My wife bought new knives and it significantly improved my experience cooking, including speeding up the process so I can get out of the kitchen sooner. Our gas string trimmer was such a pain to start, and the carburetor seemed like it constantly needed cleaning. A new string trimmer than runs on batteries makes that task a lot easier, and a lot quieter so I can actually enjoy the music in my headphones while doing it.

As for non-practical gifts, I secretly love it when my wife gives me a new pair of underwear she finds attractive. Not a basic 5 pack, but a single pair that has a specific design to the fabric, how its cut and shaped, etc. That lets me know she's thinking of me and desiring me that way as well.
