I'm a small contractor and lately it's been hard to keep my bids competitive because prices for materials and labor keep changing almost every month. It feels like by the time I submit a bid, the costs have already shifted. Just wondering if others are facing the same challenge and how you're dealing with it.

There are four areas to compete in.

Price, marketing, quality and customer service.

Since price is tricky in your context then either your quality or customer service has to be premium.

Or you need some creative marketing idea.
