So it seems the Trump Administration is about to accomplish one of their goals... just not the way they intended. I think prices will fall in the next few months. As the recession builds and demand decreases prices on most goods should fall. Fuel prices are already falling due to lower demand. Tough to buy things when you are laid off. Way to go Donald! You did not lower prices on day one but it only took a few months...

Bananas, Coffee Beans, Cocoa, Natural Vanilla, Spices, and more goods that come from outside the US being imported into this country will all go up in price.
For all that don’t know, tariffs are a tax on an import company not on an opposing country. As we all know as proud Natural Born American Capitalists, corporations don’t like paying more for having their product imported since they make less profit so, the only way they can make that loss back then additional revenue would be to charge the consumers more at the store (inflation / shrinkflation).

And this isn’t just spices, bananas, cocoa, or natural vanilla, but it is the product containing those ingredients so consumers will have to spend more to make up for the loss of the corporation and loss of the importer. It falls onto the consumer only, right? Wrong, it also falls onto small businesses in local communities since their local customers probably don’t want to spend an arm and a leg forcing them to close down shop for good while the millionaires / billionaires can afford that loss. Also Trump Administration said that they are willing to make exceptions of tariffs for the ultra rich especially those that gave to his Campaign / continue to give him money since lobbyists exists in this Democratic Republic.

Have you been paying attention? These reason for the momentary stock market rebound this week followed by another collapse is that evidence of the second shoe dropping also showed up.

The debt markets are also collapsing. The yield on the 10 year US treasury bill is up sharply. People are selling off into chaos. That means higher interest rates on US debt. The 10 year treasury bill is the standard that sets the rate on mortgages, car loans, and credit cards.

Banks have expressed concerned that bad debt is quickly building to the point that it will exceed their cash reserves. Translation... bankruptcy for some banks.

That means tRumps stupidity has triggered a complete economic collapse. Equity markets, debt markets, banking, and government are all in trouble. And the Fed and Treasury are now led by the buffoons and toadies of an imbecile. There will be no coherent policy to help this time.

Democrats absolutely hate the idea of Trump's tariffs.
Couple days ago Trump announced he was going to put a 90 day hold on tariffs, and the left went ballistic. Now that left was furious that they couldn't get the tariffs that they don't want.

Oil was 61 dollars a barrel today, the cheapest since Trump's first term. Energy prices will go down and soon the price of most things will go down.
