Someone on here said the price for peppers are.25. My ass! 😆 this is at Kroger by the way. Average rent is 1k a month. And the state I’m in is a majority republican legislature and democrat governor. Pretty much a purple state. So maga what ya got to say?

Prices are complicated to say the least so let's give a little leeway.

The former ceo of Kroger a few years ago said we are price gouging well over inflation increases. Old ceo was investing into robot workers and those fucking wheels that lock up for trying to get in and out of the store as fast as possible. That was a mission promise for the last 100 years.

I'm not a gambling man but what is it called? parlay bet? I've called out everyday grocery stores turning into giant vending machine for 20 years now.

Since 2020 pandemic, has been leaning into making the in store shopping experience as miserable as possible. With a disguise of inflation making prices equally miserable.

They want to make dark stores a thing where no people enter the store and drop all the employees and fan fair and make a giant vending machine. Drop the over inflated prices by half so people who already get pick up and delivery don't even notice.

Individual prices at a grocery store are meaningless. Grocery stores have a very low profit margin. They have a lot of loss leaders to get people in the store.

People notice increases but don't notice when prices stay the same or drop. Some prices ARE dropping. Some prices are dropping a LOT. For example egg prices are stabilizing. They are half what they were recently, and will probably continue to drop.

About a month ago I bought a gallon of milk for $1.25. That was obviously a loss leader.

Overall, inflation has been pretty normal this year. It's certainly MUCH lower than the few years before that. The three highest inflation rates over the last 25 years were 2021, 2022 and 2023. It'll be a few months before we get the final tally for 2025, but it is certainly returning to normal after a few years of very high inflation.

According to the farm bureau prices re going down. I am amazed that people forget when your grocrey bill would be another 20 or 30 bucks every week and people would be putting items back on the shelves because they ran out of money. The important thing is inflation is now 2.5% -3% instead of the 9.1% it was just a year or so ago. Trump is importing beef from Argentina which will help with beef prices and the decrease in fuel costs will help make everything delivered by truck less expensive. We are going in the right direction but the country was pretty messed up and it will take more than 10 months to fix t, especislly whjen deomcrats try to stop everything Trump wants to do.

I'm currently visiting Spain. I went to Sunday market this past week. I bought a red pepper the size of your head, some cherry tomatoes, a roasted beet, a lime, an apple, 5 bananas, a cucumber, 2 large carrots and a 2 kilo bag of potatoes. Guess how much?

$3.70 Euros, which is the equivalent to $4.30 US. And it's winter!! What would that cost in the USA? $12? $15? Not to mention the quality. You can actually taste what each food is supposed to taste like, and it didn't travel a thousand miles to get the market. Food prices in the USA are shockingly high.
