Like I have said the world is changing it's nothing but pure greed I mean I can understand prices going up because of gas prices and for the truckers that have to deliver how products are produce are building materials and this is what I mean about our politicians they are in tune with only their pockets at the same time
It's greed and the politicians don't want to do anything about it because it's mobile it's X on its shell it's Texaco it's Chevron. That gives politicians money to be re-elected
There is a product right now it has been being tested in trains airplanes boats vehicles and is changing water into HHO that your car can do it on its own will you fill up a tank with water it will be the biggest it is the biggest invention did we have ever seen because it can be used for everything but pure greediness like always will hold it back the politicians will stick their head in the fucking stand because somebody loses and somebody wins we will be done with the big gasoline companies they will go out of business and the politicians know this but you feel my pocket up and will keep you going a little bit longer it's not what's good for the world it's what's good for the politicians and their pockets we don't have to be going through any of this right now if we had one Brave politician stand up and be accountable to be a hero to be great the greed gets in the way greed has set us back since day one it would be like what the telephone lines did to the Pony Express
It would be like the car did to the covered wagon it took somebody else out of business to better our planet and we are stuck on stupid and greediness the big oil companies with go out of business to a certain point and all the politicians that had their money invested into these companies are stupid because they could pull that money out redirected in a new business it's going to take off no matter what the guy who engineered this will give it away for free he's been offered billions and trillions of dollars to sit on it or to sell it to them the big oil companies he has said no I hope I wish one day we would have one politician no matter what country stand up and be fucking great instead of being a follower and a greedy motherfuker00 Reply

+1 yUkraine war causing inflation? Bull-f___'n-sh*t!
Inflation was raging long before Putin decided to pull his invasion stunt.
As for companies making record profits... show me their bottom lines and I'll show you Wall Street and the stock market draw-down. The media and the White House Idiot are outright LIARS. If companies were making that much $$, stocks would be up and those record LOSSES in the stock market wouldn't be happening.
Nearly all of this is due to the policies Biden instituted on day-1 when he signed all those executive orders killing oil exploration and fracking in the US. EVERYTHING... I mean EVERY last item that's made or ANYTHING you need depends on the cost of fuel.
EVERY policy Biden has done, has been to destroy the US. It's America LAST. He's the ultimate cause of this shit. 81 million votes... my ass! There absolutely WAS voter fraud to get him "installed" as President. He's supposedly THE most popular President ever? Even more than Obama? Yeah... riiiiiiggggghhhhtttt!00 Reply

+1 yYou are correct. Inflation is high, but it doesn't explain the price gouging at the pumps or the stores.
Most oil companies have broken profit records this year despite supply issues. Many retailers have likewise had the same record breaking profits.
This is the reality of Capitalism.
Corporations will continue to gouge customers. It's literally the only way the capitalist system will turn out.
This is just the system working as it was designed to.00 Reply
+1 yMaybe, but many companies are posting losses... due to higher gas prices people are spending more on gas and less on everything else.
My company is probably not even going to give bonuses this year due to not meeting the 15% target growth goals.
I have no doubt there are some companies that are being hit by inflation so they are just trying to make profits as much as possible too.00 Reply

A lot of the product is already there, and they've just marked it up.
Production is affected mainly by supply issues due to covid. But the war in Ukraine has pushed sunflower oil (Ukraine produces 60% of the worlds sunflower oil used in foods) up, and Russia is a large player in the energy markets and no one can makeup the shortfall of sanctioning Russia.
Hence they've jumped up prices too soon to claim "supply issues".10 ReplyIts a mix of things, but things people foolishly voted for. Going all in on green energy and the crusade for it has hurt everyone severely. In California we are exception rolling power outages for days at a time this year possibly. Where I reside it can get to 120 degrees in the summer. If my dad, who has a weak heart dies because of this I will be suing for every nickle and dime to give him a funeral he deserves and for the emotional damage it's going to cost me. People who vote these days are too damn emotional about shit and dont think of the long term consequences for what they ask. People asking for student loan forgiveness and basic universal healthcare in one breath are also in the next saying "send more money to Ukraine". Sorry but you just can't fix stupid.
10 ReplyYeah the oil companies are getting record profits, they could drop back down to last year's profit margin and lower prices...
But thats not how corporate greed works.
They raised prices for the pandemic cause they couldn't get material but now they will just leave them prices jacked up.
Car dealerships are just plain theirs, I don't see how their mark up over msrp are even legal, and if you've been waiting to buy a new gpu for your gaming pc build you'll have noticed how gpus are also twice the msrp.00 Reply5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You're not alone. The price of oil was just as high for about five years around 2009-14, but the prices at the pump (and oil company profits) were much lower.
The American House just voted on a bill giving the president "authority to declare an energy emergency that would make it unlawful to increase gasoline and home energy fuel prices in an “excessive” or exploitative manner. The bill directs the Federal Trade Commission to punish companies that engage in price gouging."
Guess who all voted against it.

+1 yNot one of my ''supplies'' comes from Ukraine.
Oil industry, bankers and stock exchange gamblers have once again taken advantage to satisfy their greed.
As 'transport' is the base for getting goods to a consumer, anything that happens after 'transport' will automatically suffer. ''Retailers'' aren't angels, though; they as well will always look out for a nice profit.
Those who have sheep at home ( ... 😁) or a decent veggie garden, at least can maintain some independence from the world's commercial pervertedness.00 Reply 1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No.
Russia is a huge county with a vast amount of commodities. They supply a huge amount of oil and grains to much of the world - things that we must have. The sanctions imposed by our genius leaders means that there has been a shift in the supply of oil and food available in Europe - and to a lesser degree - the US. This will effect prices through out much of the world but especially in Europe - which will be fucked since they depend on Russian gas, oil and food to an insane degree.
This is not to say that prices in the US have not gone up - they have- but we will not be as hard hit as the Europeans.00 Reply
+1 yThe whole point of business is to profiteer. The problem is when they take too much. I know in my industry the price of certain products doubled in cost within 3 months. Mostly wood from eastern Europe. No one predicted it would happen although looking back on the steps leading to the increase I can see exactly how it happened.
That was not profiteering but due to a sheer lack of wood available to buy so the price went up in relation to how desperate people were paying more to get what was on the market.
There might be bad cases of profiteering but on the whole, the market sorts itself out. Businesses always try to get your dollar, so eventually prices self regulate by becoming more affordable.00 Reply389 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There is a part of the price which is the cost of oil. Part of the price is the expectation of a shock on the available amount of future oil that is previously discounted. Pricing at the fuel pump is done by the sales company, not the retailer, fuel pumps are a subject to one of the greatest competition. The basic problem is that there is not a single oil, but there are several and they have different markets. There are macro categories of oil, there are futures on Brent and light oil or WTI on the market. However there are numerous types of oils such as Dubai, Urals etc. Each type of oil has different processing costs and different costs and are not completely interchangeable.

+1 yCompanies are raking in record PROFITS. That’s after costs n shit. These CEOs make “$50,000” a year but get massive bonuses and deals with other rich people. I think anyone defending BILLIONAIRES wealth are brainwashed. Oh no! Rich Prick McGee has 10 billion dollars, better not tax 1.5 billion of that. How is he supposed to survive on only 8.5 billion?🤷♂️ It’s baffling
10 Reply You're not - they certainly are adding a bit because it's expected by the consumer to an extent. So long as they jack the prices within reason, they will get away with it too.
I agree that the war has an impact on petrol pumps, but prices on the way up BEFORE the war, the war is just a convenient culprit to point at.00 Reply
+1 yYes, they are profiting off of us, I live in the State of PA USA and these small stores are price gauging us with everything high price, a can of Folgers Coffee is over $12.00 dollars I remember when it was just $6.99 up at local Walmart Store, not no longer These stores think they can get away with it.

Ukraine is not at war. It's having genocide and its coming to Europe, Asia, and North America.00 Reply
+1 yPartly yeah. Some is due to supply chain issues and the like, but honestly, I'm with you kid. A lot of it probably is retailers saying " Fuck it, let's jack up the price. We'll blame it on the war or covid or bumfucking extraterrestrials from Titan. Nobody can do shit anyhow. They need to eat so they'll pay it."
00 Reply- 891 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt’s a simple supply/demand issue. The supply is very low, demand is very high and adding inflation which we have no really had to deal with in America for decades is surging. Added gas prices increase the cost of everything because it costs twice as much in shipping costs. Everyone’s feeling this, we just have too many people in positions of power that done understand how the economy works.
00 Reply 1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The price fluctuations at the pumps and supermarkets have little to do with the war in Ukraine, even though Ukraine did grow and supply large amounts of cereals, the prices are mainly up because of the prices being bid for those commodities on the exchange floors by dealers maximising their profits, it is those dealer who are the cause of the price hikes even though supplies at least in the UK has barely been affected.

+1 ySupply chain, low stockpiles, crop failures and reduced production on one end.
Extreme quantitative easing in the US and Canada, probably elsewhere too.
So most of it's legitimate, but companies are also taking advantage of the opportunity to profiteer also.
It's chaos out there and our governments don't seem to be helping.00 Reply- 6.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yBusinesses do tend to take advantage of situations that allow them to raise prices when the public will agree to pay for the increase. It's not all greed but it is capitalism at its basics.

+1 yNo one is adding prices. If you own a business you know that everything is connected. Eventually it hits your sector. Some sooner than others. The dollar is also being devalued. Printing off money= not good. Take a micro and macro economics class if you haven’t already.
It’s the same thing that happened when Obama became president in 2008. Now he’s running things again. Only this is an accelerated version.00 Reply- 4.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yMargins for gasoline and diesel stay the same regardless of prices. Actually gas stations will go out of business as credit card fees destroy their margins. Other retailers feel the bite of inflation bust like consumers. Blaming businesses is a left wing "go to", but it is a straw man.

+1 yBeing you are a Socialist you wouldn't understand costs. But high fuel prices always lead to higher prices. They are not a charity and are trying to make a profit. Another concept socialists don't seem to grasp. They don;t think companies should make a profit.
Now as for Oil Companies , they must get all they can now because they don;t know what Biden and Socialists have planned next. They could say oil is illegal tomorrow. I would be looking to get in something else if I were them.00 Reply Some might be, But their costs would have gone up aswell so they wouldn't be making that much profit, Because with their high prices they would probably have less People buying stuff from them, So there Profits would probably be the same or might even be a bit less than before.
00 Reply751 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. the reason they work all day long is to make a profit. If not they will stop going to work. Prices are up due to all this "free money" that was supposed to help the poor. Competition brings prices down. Every sitting at home watching "the Office" and continuing to consume while no one is producing sends prices up. So yes they are profiteering, as they should
00 Reply- 504 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

+1 yI don’t understand how there can be a shortage of things that you always seem to be able to get but the price just keeps going up. That’s not a shortage that’s just profiteering. Never let a crisis go to waste, right Alinsky?
00 Reply 1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It isn't the war. It is because Biden used executive orders to stop a lot of drilling in the USA. The fuel prices had already doubled here 10 months before the Russia/Ukraine war. Biden is the direct cause of the high prices.

+1 yCompetition doesn't allow it. Always, if a business can afford to, they will lower their price slightly to get more business and to steal customers from similar businesses.

@Losalt Government, not free enterprise limits our choices. However, there may be a few exceptions. Most people use Microsoft Windows. That limits our choice because it is extremely difficult to be a competitor. because it takes a great deal of time and effort to learn a different operating system However, for most products, gasoline, cars, furniture, clothes, or food, people will buy based on their opinion of quality and price, although reputation is a factor.
- +1 y
@KellyNice No, a genuinely free market tends to lead to monopoly situations.
Bigger actors buy up smaller ones, or price them out till they go bankrupt then rise the prices and reap the benefits of the monopoly by charging as much as possible.
Or they push the revenue stream of their competitiors so low that they just can't afford to keep up technologically, leading to customers having no real choice because the only alternative is inferior etc.
Companies are only held accountable by their share holders whose interests are not aligned with the customers or workers, and to a lesser degree by customers and workers that in a genuinely free market usually don't have much power to actually make a big change, since companies can behave benevolent till it's too late, before anyone realize it.
Goverment is honestly just a company where we *all* are the shareholders through our citizenship, and that's held accountable through elections.

00 Reply12K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Prices are up because Biden and the Fed have created inflation by printing unbacked money, thereby diluting the value of the dollar. Retailers are just trying to stay in business.

00 Reply 2.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Gas stations operate on very small margins; as it is a highly competitive market place. The average in America is 5¢ per gallon; I would imagine British petrol stations operate on a similar profit margin.
