What is something that has happened that you never thought you would see?

I have lived in this town for more than 25 years. When I moved here there was a big shopping mall that drew customers from all the surrounding towns. It seems like it was always busy and there were lots of good stores there. WalMart, Macys , Sears , Radio Shack, Foot locker and of course Orange Julius. I always thought the mall would always be here. 5 years ago it was bulldozed to make apartments.

When I was growing up, people were decent to policemen and the government was decent to the people. For the most part, there were some good presidents when I was growing up. I might not have agreed with their politics completely but as people I thought they were decent. That has all changed now. I never thought for a moment that we would have a present. Just crazy and as criminally insane as Trump yet there he is. I also thought that if that would have happened. Our impeachment process would have taken care of the problem. We all know how well that didn't work. I had a lot of respect for the supreme Court growing up because it seemed like they made wise decisions which again I didn't always agree with but I respected. I have no respect for that cording anymore because the Justice is at least some of it seemed to be horribly corrupt and they do anything but Trump wants. He feels like like country is going down the driven now about happy about it.

This is more of what a friend said. She volunteers at a food pantry two nights a week. She told me that on Monday, they got a donation of over 40 dozen eggs! She said it's been over a year since they've been able to hand out eggs! She never thought she'd see the day. They're also expecting butter.

My father had chickens , he also had a bunch of ducks. I used to bring home eggs from both. My wife only found out that she was eating duck eggs after my father died. She was not amused.

Lol.. Laciejordan worked at a duck farm in CALIFORNIA when I lived there and was friends with her. She candled eggs? I guess to see if they were fertile. If they weren't, she had to smash them in a big barrel but she would sneak some and eat them 😂 l just couldn't bring myself to eat one.

She was a quirky girl lol I'd go over to hang out with her and she would have four or five duck eggs covered in dirt and who knows what else! She'd say, "I'm gonna clean them up a little and have them scrambled, you want some"? My reply, "No, thanks, I just ate". 😂😂

Only high end air conditioned malls in affluent areas survive. Less wealthy people tend to shop online for more affordable products or at outdoor strip shopping centers.

@boundless This was a high end enclosed mall. i live in a somewhat high scale community. People need ot have a good job to be able to afford to live here.
The mall started going downhill ten or 12 years ago. JC Penny closed and a few other stores closed. Instead of finding new tenants the mall just turned the space into a babysitting place. The place started to get shabby and then a store closed and they put a tattoo parlor in it. Eventually the whole place was bulldozed.

My childhood mall is still thriving and even expanding, but the anchor stores are Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks Fith Avenue, Bloomingdales, and Neiman Marcus. There is only one anchor store that is not filled and that was a Sears for a very long time. My Mom use to go to Penny's sometimes as a kid but we always had to go to malls in neighboring cities for that. All the mall in the neighboring cities are gone and have been bulldozed. Air conditioned malls are only for the wealthy due to the high rent. Middle class malls are gone or on the way out.

yes, kids today have been coddled by their helicopter parents and have no survival skills and have no clue about what can get you killed. Then everyone is surprised when they go off to college , get drunk and fall off a balcony.

I saw a woman I know get married for 5 years and divorce shortly after giving birth to a child. Then about a month after that I discovered that she had accused her ex husband of being abusive so she could get full custody of the kid and he committed suicide shortly afterwards
