Are people in germany really blonde?

I was in school today and a group of germans were touring the school. The first thing I noticed was that they were really blond. So are people in germany really blonde? I thought it was just a myth.

true! I noticed as well germans and polish are blond not sure why may be that part of europe caused the blond gene mutation to originate thousands of years ago...

being blond is actually a mutuation in the gene where melanin (brown pigment for brunettes) doesn't show up and is linked to blue eyes

its similar for irish people and being redhead, the red pigment is also a mutation in the genes tied with freckles on the skin and green eyes generally

Haha I am German..well, 90% anyway..and I am blond. So, I guess so. haha.

I think just most of their population is..I wouldn't know though.

i've met a handful of germans in my life (maybe 7 or less) and the ones I've seen were either some shade of blond or had light brown hair.

Germans are on average not as blonde as Scandinavians or Dutch, unless you are way up north in north friesland or lower saxony/hostein.

But german people as a whole are much blonder than White American or British people, without a doubt.

As a German I don't feel like we have a lot of blondes here. Most of us are dark haired.

obviously not EVERYONE in germany is blonde... but a fair amount are. but that's most likely because they dyed it. one side of my family is all German, and they're all naturally black or very dark brown.

well not all of them,but most of them are cause of their ancestors,same reason black people have dark skin.

Yes dud, ALL of the 80 million Germans out there are blonde...

Blonde hair is pretty common in Germany. Many Germans are born as blinds but then this hair tone darkens to a usually light or medium brown tone. For some to darker browns to even black. Almost 30% of German adults are blondes.

Yeah Most are blond but depend where you go in Germany I went to a city Dusseldorf and they had a lot of black more than blondes...

Could be in America things are very diverse but many europeans are blonde
