How soon do you use a gift card?

How soon do you use a gift card? Do you use it almost immediately or do you have a stockpile of them in your wallet or purse?

I only buy gift cards for my nephew for Christmas and his birthday.
I received a text from him yesterday already placing his order for his gift card and his birthday isn't until March 31st!
It's so sad because I am his only living relative that he has that can do things like that for him. He doesn't get any other spending money because he's disabled. I love him with all of my heart❣️

As soon as possible. It is useless to wait or maybe forget or lose it.

I don't like gift cards. Then you better give money. I don't use the same shops. So it is stress to search in a shop when I don't need anything.

I usually use them right away. I have a cinema gift certificate that one of the bosses at work gave me. She does not work there anymore and in fact she died a couple of years ago. I still have not used it.

All depends if I want to buy something from the shop the card comes from, if I do I'll spend it straight away and if I don't I save it for another time

Ill strategize a good way to get rid of the gift card, I dislike them so my route is usually to see if I can get money out of it.

Tbh sometimes I just trade them with friends. One gal knows how to trade them on amazon so i give most of them to her.
