I bought an expensive chuky doll from a well known seller with good reviews. A few days ago they messaged me thanking me for my purchase and that my order is in production. Then they asked for my email, and my tax ID so they could give me and invoice or something. They said if im not comfortable giving it out, then I can make one up. by the way the seller is in another country. I asked this on fb and some people said the seller is trustworthy because they've done business with them before. I don't know though

Somebody only needs a tax ID when they are paying you for a service or products from your business. if you are paying them then there’s no need for them to have your tax ID for anything
Maybe you should grow up and stop buying dolls
And a tax ID is only used in the United States between US businesses. Like for example when I used to work at the bar, working musicians would give their tax ID number to the bar to get paid
Good thing I am spending my own money and not yours.
That's weird. Been using Etsy for years and never once been asked for that. Most if what I order comes from eastern Europe
Sounds sus. I guess just make one up?
