When I was dating, I would take a single WHITE rose to a lady on a first date. Red roses are entirely off limits until you are dating exclusively. And a dozen white roses would be too much.

The white rose symbolizes new beginnings, and when I explained that, the single white rose was always well received.

You can't buy a woman's affections with gifts and if a woman thinks that is what you are trying to do, she will see you as a desperate loser who has resorted to tactics that reveal your lack of appreciation for the female sensibilities.
